My husband and I have discussed going there for our 1 year anniversary. I have never been there and I don't really know anything about it. Can anyone give suggestions on where to go or have any good websites for information?? Or maybe give a suggestion on a warmer, cheaper place to go that doesn't include Florida.

We used to live in Hawaii Kai, which is now SOOOO expensive, over 700k for a house!!! what a difference 8 years can make. Does anyone know where I can get a decent house for 400-500 k?

I've been invited by one of my best friends to go on a trip to Hawaii in February. I've never been off the east coast of America and Canada, and I've always wanted to experience new places, plus I have never been on vacation with one of my friends before. I would be missing 5-6 days of school, but I can get my makeup work and lessons beforehand, and be completely caught up with school by the time I return. I feel like this is the opportunity of a lifetime- it's FREE for me, her dad is using his air miles and paying for the hotel stay! It would be INCREDIBLE to spend a week in Hawaii with one of my best friends- a trip I would remember for the rest of my LIFE. My parents have flat out said no. I'm indescribably upset. They don't think I should be missing school, but I don't understand what kind of an argument this is since I can get the makeup work. They also don't like the fact I'll be so far away and they can't watch me. They say we might go to Hawaii as a family soon but (continued)

I think I'm going to move to Hawaii and live in a tent on the beach for a year or so.

What is the cheapest way to eat?

Am I going to have to pack my tent up every morning and set up every night so it won't get stolen? That will suck.

Will girls date a guy living in a tent? haha

Any other advice?

i am trying to determine whether or not the sand bar in Kaneohe Bay will be exposed during the couple of days we are there. I have looked up tidal information at the NOAA web site and it looks like the tide will be neither high nor low during day time hours the couple of days we are there. does anyone know precisely how far above or below the mean lower-low water mark the tide needs to be at for the sand bar to be exposed? i'll be impressed and grateful if somone can answer this one!

We are going to Hawaii for Christmas. Some friends there would like for us to bring a little Florida beach sand to her, approximately 5 lbs. Will the TSA allow this to go in the luggage underneath?

I was wondering if the Hawaii job corps is a good place to get my education and live there permanently. I am now in Las Vegas trying to get out. This place sucks! In my opinion, there are a lot of really sketched out, nosy people around here. Not for me. Anyways, just wanted to know if anyone has even heard of Job Corps. If so, is Hawaii the place for me?. I heard it's really beautiful over there, but expensive. Although Hawaii has the lowest unemployment rate.

I will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in August of 2008. I want to become a firefighter but am recently burnt out. I want to move to Oahu for one year and live my dream. I have wanted to move to Hawaii since I was at least 17 (now 22). I am this close to buying my one way ticket for September. Only thing is I am worried about my parents, they want me to get my paramedics license, and get everything now. They are sort of strict. I have quite a bit of money in the bank and will be using that. I feel if I tell them what I am doing they will say no and not let me go. I think if I buy the ticket now, wait until May when I graduate and tell them, it would be too late for them to stop me. I want to have a roomate before I move to tell them I found a place. I am just worried about my parents stopping me from doing this and not letting me use my bank money. Plus I will be 23 when I leave and just turn 24 when I get back. What should I do?

I'm considering relocating to Hilo Hawaii, and according to this link:

http://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/classifieds/rentals/rooms_for_rent/

Rooms go for as little as 200 a month, but most of the chesp ones range from 350-500 a month. What can I expect from a residence in Hilo Hawaii that only costs 350 dollars? Is it going to be beaten down and decreped or just tiny?

I don't care if its tiny, I don't plan on spending much time at home anyways. I just don't want to show up and realize its a deceped crackhouse or something lol.

What can I expect from a room that costs 350 dollars in hilo hawaii?
