Thanks

I'm not familiar with Oahu!

Traveling to see the Pipe Masters contest this December and found a place to stay in Honolulu. Travel time is not an issue and I don't want to rent a car.

What's the bus route like? Are there tours that stop and drop me off there? Any info appreciated.

Our grannie wants to take my husband and I to Hawaii, but instead of camping on the beach ( like she wants and she's 78), I'd prefer at least a bed. I've never been to the islands, so where are good accommodations, on which island and if you know the average cost per night. We could share a rooms as the 3 of us.

I will not be surfing and going deep sea fishing. Would like to see some great beaches, waterfalls, hiking, snorkelling etc. I would really like to go to multiple islands. To do this which are the best islands to stay at, how do I go from one island to another. Do I rent a car? I have become very confused and since this is becoming an expensive trip, I would really like to make the best of it. Thanks

Now that I have been given some great advice about Hawaii and have decided on Kauai where on the island is the nicest to be based? Somebody mentioned Poipu....is that lovely? What I'm looking for is just somewhere where there is a nice beach to lie on and snorkel from and then exploring can be done in a jeep or something.
Also, is it a lot cheaper to rent a condo through VRBO than go the hotel route?

Hi- I am on the mainland (Washington, D.C. exactly) and I am thinking of moving to Maui come next spring. I wanted to know of any suggestions for my move. I am looking at a job in Wailea- however I am aware that Kahului is the place to live. I currently do not own a car (I rely on public transportation), and I was thinking of picking up a moped once I get there (or if possible, relying on public transport- however I know the bus system is going to be limited). Also, I have a cat and I know that the regulations and preparation to get a pet into Hawaii is quite extensive. Can someone please advise? Thank you!!
