First Class has changed over the years due to competition and cost reduction. I've been flying American Airlines since 1987 and I travel to Hawaii fairly often (3 times a year). First class has really scaled back on food quality but the best way to describe it is "decent".

You get a larger chair, personal video unit, but it depends on the plane. Alot of people use their free miles to go to Hawaii and I recall reading somewhere that these flights do not make money for the Airlines (hard to believe since the flights are no full all the time).

Get it if you can upgrade. I also travel on Delta, Continental and US Air. Personally, I now prefer Continental non-stop to Honolulu from either Houston (8-9 hour flight depending on headwinds) or from Newark non-stop (11-12 hour flight).

I can sense you have a computer, and probably know how to use it. So check out the information on line instead of having somebody do your research.
