Before you decide to move to Hawaii, take a vacation first there. Then you can "shop around" pick up the local paper (Honolulu Advertiser or the Star Bulletin).

Think again...

Do not move unless you already have a job lined up. The job market in Hawaii is horrible, and that goes for professionals too. Make sure you are doing it this for the right reason, that is where you want to live regardless of how much you make. Hawaii has a statewide insurance program and doctors don't make a lot compared to the mainland. There is a very small ability to work outside the program and no chance for a new arrival.

Unless you already have a job lined up, don't come here hoping to find one. Not only will you have to sit for the Hawaii board again, you'll have a hard time finding a job here where the job unemployment rate is one of the lowest in the country.

Good luck!
