During a travel assignment, I am moving to the metro DC area for at least three months. I'm not really sure where I'll be living either in Arlington or Alexandria. I have at least three to explore the area and really want to take advantage of my time there. What are the must see destinations in all three areas and even beyond for weekend excursions. I'll be moving from this January till mid April. Thanks

I'm moving to Olympia this summer to attend nursing school at South Puget Sound Community College. I'm interested in renting a studio/one-bedroom in one of the older apartment buildings downtown close to the capitol building and within walking distance to that "main street" with all of the shops, bars, and restaurants. Does anyone have any places they could recommend? I don't mind one of those fading, red-brick numbers with character; in fact, I've lived in places like those most of my adult life as I've been a perpetual student most of my adult life. I don't want to rent in a building with baseheads, tweakers, or gangbangers. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

I heard that Washington DC can be a dangerous place. If we don't want to stay in those expensive hotels, which area should avoid?

I'm going to D.C. for my third time, and this time I have the choice of going somewhere. I heard about this museum and someone said it was pretty touching.

I also heard that you can do this tour where you get a name and gender of a holocaust victim and you go to each level and find out if you died or not, or something similar along those lines.

I'm not sure about this, but tell me, if you've been, or what you've heard about it.

Thanks!

I am taking a job in DC and seems the lowest cost of living that I have found thus far is in Baltimore Co...so I will be commuting. Mapquest says 1 hour and 8 minutes. Is this pretty much accurate?

I am new to this city, and I am single 26 years old and I was wondering what people thought of the dating scene in DC compared to other cities.

What are the girls like? Are they "easy", are they "snobbish", compared to women in other cities?

Thanks!
