There are many museums on the Mall that should interest you. One that's not on the Mall and one of the few to charge admission is the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The Museum of the American Indian has the only decent museum cafeteria I've ever seen, but it's rather expensive. The Botanical Gardens are nicest in the springtime, as they close parts off in cold weather.

I need to find out whether or not the Museum of American History has reopened.

The eastern market area is nice to visit. On the weekends there is a farmers market that is always interesting. And there are also a lot of coffee shops and restaurants in the area.

I also love to visit Mount Vernon.

Have fun!
