Hey you guys! Even though I haven't traveled much I'm a travel freak and would love to know what it's like to live in different countries. So everyone: tell me what it's like in your country; anything and everything you can think of!

Thanks so much for your replies everybody! And still feel free to reply. :) What do all of you do during the day? Any specific traditions, holidays or anything else in your country?
I live in Georgia, USA (Outside of the capital, Atlanta, to be exact). It's starting to get cold here and the leaves are starting to change colors. The people here are very laid back and it is rather easy to fit in (I would know after changing High Schools 4 times in 2 years!). I used to live in Florida and Sweden. Florida is alot like Georgia but it is warmer and has a ton of beaches and stuff. It's a really nice place. Sweden is a beautiful country (located in Scandinavia in between Norway and Finland, and above Denmark). It's freezing there during the winter but it's nice because the air is really clean. The summers are amazing; the days are light as well as the nights. The sun barely touches the horizon before it rises again.

I just moved to Shanghai, China in June. I'm from the U.S. If you want to know what it is like in Shanghai, it is terribly crowded, there is lots of poverty, and it is very dirty. Horns are honking all day and night. The city is so big, you can see sky scrapers as far as the eye can see. The air is terribly polluted. Some people wear surgical masks around the city. It was so hot this summer that I thought I was going to melt. I could not believe the heat. It has cooled down into the upper 70s and 80s during the day now and is quite pleasant. People here are very friendly and I have a new understanding for the needs of people. There are beggars on the streets, people living with no running water in their homes, people use the streets and sidewalks as toilets. Millions of people live here that don't have even a change of clothing. It is shocking. I was middle class in the US, but here I'm like a rich person because I have a nice modern apartment with a washer, dryer and refrigerator. It is a learning experience for sure. Everyone needs to visit here, they would have a new outlook on life. I can't have a car here so I either walk to the store or take a taxi. You can buy counterfit purses and watches cheap at the black market, it is a shopping mecca! Everyone here walks places, or rides a bike. There are hundreds of bikes parked along the streets everywhere. The food is great and there are restaurants everywhere. You should make it a travel destination if at all possible.

i live in Iran, south of Iran to be exact, it's one of the hottest places on earth i think, reaching 50 degrees Celsius in the summer...
i've been to a lot of countries as a tourist: Germany, Belgium, France, US,... they were all nice places
and I've lived in the UK for a few years....
I like my country, but if I was going to live somewhere else I dont think I'd live in Europe, because it's freezing there and i don't like it!!
