My muslim friend and I [atheist] were approuched by a local church group.
they said we are "sinners" by not accepting jesus, and we should convert.
well, I told them that my friend here is the latest edition, so why not convert to islam then?
they got all mad at us saying "how dare you insult my religon"
and yada yada yada.
can't most christians just get over the fact that not everyone is christian?
and what happened to being "loving" and "repecting everyone?"

"The path to love isn't a choice, for all of us must find out who we are. This is our spiritual destiny. The path can be postponed; you can lose faith in it or even despair that love exists. None of that is permanent; only the path is."

The only thing someone can claim they know 100% is the feelings inside them. What leads up to you having those feelings is a different story.

You could have a person feeling hopeless about the world, but lookout, here comes a book that supposedly has all the answers and addresses all contingences. So you "feel" you know now.

But what happened 2,000 years ago and everything that led up to that moment, you don't know. All you know is how it makes you feel. So in actuality, you don’t know anything.

Correctamundo!?

for someone to hold tight of an ancient book, refusing any logical thinking about human origin and insists on 'Faith' with black and white thinking, do they have lower IQ than people who can stand up on their own feet?

I think it is the most horrible christian song. He is the greatest christian artist I know and his music is great, but that is the worst song ever created by a Christian. He talks about daming the witch to hell, and never does anything Christian. He like struggles with it, and leaves. Thinking he is a strong christian, just because he did not test God. If I had the opertunity I would have invited the witch to church....and I have done that once. Well one of those hand fortune tellers, and crystal ball ladies. He should of invited the witch to church....fight for her soul. That is the purpose of the cross. HE never mentioned anything about the blood, he just said you wait when those demons you walk with take your soul to HELL.......it is so bad. Poor lady, I hope alot of christians are not like that. We need to save them, not dame them.

I post this here as an example that things are not always what they appear to be. People have bad days or off days and maybe need a second chance.
It's funny how those second chances come and you don't even know it.
I have done just what my question has stated and so in an odd way I was "blessed" I had an account deleted at one time.
I'm not saying who it was...only that she is a great person, but I had a bad day as I think she did and I was quick to block her.

I came to on the bathroom floor and I couldn't get up. My head was all funny and messed up. I felt like I had been hooked up to a huge electric charge. My husband came looking for me, we work together, and wanted to know why I was on the floor. I vaguely remember him being in there. He got angry and left for work. I lost consciousness again. About an hour later my daughter woke up and helped me get to the couch in the living room. What in the hell is wrong with a man that would leave his wife in that state not even knowing what is wrong? On top of it all the floor was hard and cold. What is his problem? Said it cost him money.

I am sorry for the wide sweeping generalization.

For the Fundamentalist who may not agree with Catholicism or more likely do not understand certain teachings of the Church, but are still respectful and tolerant this is not for you.

I would, however, like to hear from the Fundamentalist out there who have genuene hatred in there hearts for Catholicism.

And I have seen some of your questions or more specifically answers to questions and the comments you make can be nothing other than hateful.

There are about 15,000-30,000 and growing Christian denominations in the United States alone.

Many of them with views quite contrary to yours.

Why do you not attack them.

Lutherans, Methodist, Anglicans, and Episcopalians all have religious views similar to Catholics.

Yet they are immnune to your attacks, why is this?

I do whatever it takes to make sure my family enjoys the holidays. Only problem is........ I quite literally hate the whole holiday season. Always have. The only good thing about them is watching my children enjoy their presents, and the family enjoy the food. If it weren't for them, I'd go camping for the season, but that is not an option. Any ideas to make it easier to deal with?

In the show tonight Jesus The Man, they managed to ignore all expectation of who Jesus was, the prophesies concerning him, the purpose in his life, with secular style comments by people with theology credentials.

Also, is this the evolving of the people from the Jesus Seminar? The types of things they say disregard anything that seemed miraculous, they didn't even bring it up most of the time, and even denied any involvement of John the Baptist's expectation of Jesus.

What kind of crap is the National Geographic becoming? When did they become so involved in baseless exposition of the Bible? Does anyone know?

Being that the overwhelmingly majority of the people over there are buddisht or shinto and lack a belief in a personal God. I need advice on what to tell my wife. Shes from Japan, and lacks a belief in a personal God. Should I tell her that since she does not belief in the Western Christian religion and has not asked Jesus Christ to be her personal savior - her and all of her family and friends are going to hell?

Geez its great to be an American!
