Alot of people including those who were killed in wars never had the chance to have families or get married and have children. The millenium would be a good time to do so. What do you think?

I am interested in the views and educated answers of Christians of all denominations.
Most preachers, pastors and priests that I have heard (and this seems to have become the most generally accepted idea) say that Heaven is supposed to be like another dimension where the saved ones exist only spiritually. Yet this seems to contradict the "the Kingdom of Heaven is near, is coming, etc..." that you hear all the time- echoes, of course of Jesus's prophecy of what heaven is or should be perceived as by Christians. In fact, I have heard a few preachers, pastors or priests say something quite different about Heaven: that it is simply the future of humanity. When we learn to love so unlimitedly that we can live forever and bring back loved ones who are dead. This may seem like a fantasy movie, but it makes more sense with the descriptions and prophesies given in the Bible.
What do you think? Or, better yet, what do you believe?

I have a question for Catholic Priests that I cannot ask in the general public and I don't remember any.

So if someone will please give me a Catholic Priest's profile, or if any are on and see this, can you please go to my profile and email me?

To clarify an earlier question...

Can anyone show me Holy Bible scripture that states that lost loved ones have the ability to communicate with me on earth while they have passed on into heaven? Prior to the second coming of course.

In other words, can my deceased mother (I miss you so much mom) become my "guardian angel", still see me from heaven, speak to me, or in any way communicate with me based on the Christian Holy Bible? Scriptures if you have them. I thought my mother spoke to me once after dying, it was wonderful, wish she could do it again if it was God's Will. My Pastor said God has allowed her to be my angel and watch over me. I fear fasle "familiar spirits" though and remain vigilant. So I figure I would ask for scriptures. I always turn to the WORD when in doubt!!

I can understand that men would imagine and even "create" such a being - to kind of fill in the gaps of ignorance and fear, but realistically, no being could every make such a claim because there is the possibility that that being could be wrong.

Perhaps God should say, "I am the All in All - the beginning and the end..."

with the disclaimer: "As far as I know" or "within my observation of the dimensions I am abiding in..."

To say that the human mind is incapable of understanding God's confident reality only begs the question: "Why did God make men so far removed from the reality of God as to make the obviousness of God impossible, in the light of scientific observation?"

It is the supreme irony, if not the supreme joke, is it not?

According to me Prayer is nothing but its only concentrating your mind. Hindus pray in front of idols of God, Christians in front of Mother Mary(idol) and similarly Muslims pray without any idols but symbol of half moon and a dazzling star above it. Whatever may be the symbols as per the religion, its all done just to concentrate their mind. That is why I believe whatever you do if you do in a concentrated way is the attainment of God or nearer to God. Someone has clearly said that WORK IS WORSHIP.

Why not a tree and some tinsel? It means nothing, it's just a tree and some tinsel. Nothing to worship, nothing to fear, it doesn't have to symbolize a pagan ritual, unless you want to play it up as something to hate. Gifts can be given any time of the year, so what if you just choose the 25th? If the day doesn't glorify God, lots of things don't glorify God, nor do they show a particular disrespect for Him. Or are you just making a statement of "loftier" beliefs?

I am curious about this, is it image that you're worried about?

Why is God never represented under a female form?

The notion of "Holy Father" always seems a bit limited to me. Of course, under a patriarcal system like ancient mediterranean tribes, a religion with only one god would need to be Male for credibility purposes.

Still, why limit God to a human form (male)? Or, rather, why exclude the female form from potentially divine. Why do we have the Son, the Father and the Holy Spirit (bird); instead of the Child, the Father and the Mother as the Holy Trinity?

[Some speculate that the early form of the Holy Trinity was the second I mentionned, but was cut out in the First Council of Nice... I tend to agree with that: make Family a sacred thing.]

I have to admit that the reluctance of the Church to allow women to be associated with anything divine was the first thing that began to drive me away from christianity.

So, aside from the mention "Holy Father", why is God never a woman?

This is coming from an interesting story I heard about a boy who wouldn't accept that men and women had the same number of ribs because God made woman from Adam's rib so man has one less rib. Apparently he full out yelled at his biology teacher and even brought his preacher into it. We all look back at Greek and Roman religions and the religions of the ancient people of Egypt and we view their stories as MYTHS. Of course there isn't a god that ferries people over from the dead and weighs your heart against a feather. Of course there aren't gods living up on Mt. Olympus. Of course there isn't a Neptune who makes waves and war. But at that time those people believed that with all their hearts and souls. But we know that those are myths. Why in this day and age do people take the bible literally? Can anyone explain why we can't view it as a collection of really nice, morally good myths? Why are there fundamentalists?

OK. Here's the deal: Being saved by God (or Gods) is more important than your one life. Because all you wage is your one life against an eternity of salvation (Pascal's wager).
But the problem is there are many religions who promise salvation, in one form or another. So I've been thinking (A dangerous occupation). I need to cover ALL the bases. So here's my daily schedule from now on.

08:00 - 09:00 Wake up, breakfast.
09:00 - 09:30 Declarations of faith (Allah is God and Mohammed is his Prophet, I believe in Jesus Christ the Son, who died for my sins, etc...)
09:30 - 09:40 Pray towards Mecca.
09:40 - 09:55 Zen meditation
09:55 - 10:10 Offer incences to Shiva
10:10 - 10:20 Put away Shiva idol as to not offend idolatry rules.
10:20 - 10:30 Prayer towards Mecca.
10:30 - 10:40 Our Father, Hail Marys, etc...
10:40 - 11:30 Go down to Raelian Church to offer time to Church to be saved by Elohim.
11:30 - 12:00 Lunch
12:00 - 12:10 Pray towards Mecca.

this is an interesting concept to me. I've only just heard it today and I've been a follower of Jesus for over 20 years.
Walking under the assumption that we forgive with abandon, this concept seems foreign....
what do you think?
