Yes because sometimes letting a question go unsaid only serves to bother you more because it's still residing within you. The more one keeps something in, the more it can eat at you. Given that, a superficial response is still better than self-torture.

Yes, I would ask them the question and if I got a shallow answer, I would not count them as one of my friends. If they don't care that they hurt you, then what kind of friend are they?

If it was a spouse, obviously can't put them out for that, but I would most likely keep bringing it up till they took it seriously.

Yes. Trying to keep lines of communication open is always best in relationships up to the point where they break it off. Then give them to God and move on.

When you feel that someone "supposedly' cares, you don't need to ask a thing.

I think you should forgive them and move on with your life. Your only hurting yourself by hanging on to this bitterness in your life.
