It's kind of funny that "pagan" comes from the early days of the era when the Christian thought of himself as a "Soldier of Christ," and, on the same metaphor, the guy who still followed the old religions was a "paganus," a civilian or rustic - basically a hick. Hence the term "pagan." So it's really just a Christian insult that became a blanket term for all religions outside of the "Abrahamic" tradition. - jonjon v2.0, Waste of Sperm, top contributor for religion and spirituality here on Yahoo! I'm in a family where most are not JW's and a few of us are. My dad is great about it even though he's not a witness. On christmas we go to my grans, have dinner, come home, watch TV, relax. The only difference is theres usually a lot of good movies on on xmas so we take advantage of that. but other than that, nothing special. in January we go shopping and buy loads. I guess that makes up for presents eh? lol
good question though, many at my school thought i go on a protest march every 25th of december lol

In lands which consider "Christmas" to be a business and government holiday, Jehovah's Witnesses typically spend the day just as they might a Saturday or Sunday in certain parts of the world.
Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians; they teach that Christ was and is Divine and of the same nature as God. Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!
Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. They do NOT celebrate so-called "Christmas" because "Christmas" does NOT celebrate Christ; "Christmas" celebrates the pagan Saturnalia. Jesus was not even born in December. Nearly all so-called Christmas customs dishonor Christ.
How would Jesus feel to learn that his so-called followers chose to celebrate a pagan false god and their own traditions of men? We don't need to wonder.
(Matthew 15:6-9) You have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about you when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’”

It's just a day off of work. Many will plan to go door to door...Many will plan gatherings because everyone is off for a few days...they may take a winter vacation....skiing or going south to a beach........many will just go about the day as nothing special.....this year it is on Tuesday..There is a meeting that night in the Revelation Book. There will be some studying for that.
We do not miss the celebration...we know we do not want to go against God's commandments and take part in pagan celebrations.
We take note of the times.

Honestly, what I do on other days. Today I am working on my house, tonight, as it is a Tuesday, I will be going to religous services.
Pretty much the only noticable difference for me is, school is out for those who have kids that matters, not much of interest on TV, and some stores are closed.

The same thing they do on other days I imagine. Spend time with the family, Cook, clean, maybe go to a movie. Just relax and do nothing. No pressures. It is actually freeing not to have to celebrate anything.
