The proverbial finger points, once again, to Mormonism, where the men are allowed to have multiple wives but the women cannot take multiple husbands.

One chapter of Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code notes that within churches of the Catholic group Opus Dei, the nuns have to serve their male counterparts. (Though some parts of the book are fictional and based on conjecture, like the theory of the Last Supper painting, Brown's research is usually pretty sound.)

The ultimate blow, however, has to come from the Bible itself: Genesis 3:26 - 'Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.'

What's going on?

Rather than fearing incorporeal beings that have never been seen, why don't we work on ourselves and try to figure out how to make ourselves better people?

What Christian denomination are you?

What challenges do you face being both progressive and Christian? (criticized from all sides perhaps?!)

What led you to becoming a Christian? (Or...why do you remain with the faith, even though you might disagree with many fellow Christians on many issues?)

Thank you. Peace be with you.

II’m going to be very frank and sober on this point. I want you guys to take a deep breath and search your souls for truth with a capital “T”.
Many of you are far more intelligent than I am and I take my hat off to you. However, faith in Christ and believing the scriptures is really not about having a high or low I.Q. As intelligent as some of you may be, I know and you know, there are some Christians that are far more intelligent than any of you. I am not putting you down in anyway I just want you to grasp that there is something about the word of God that goes beyond the immediate perception. It actually blesses countless lives! Again, it’s not about intelligence it’s about suspending attitude, pride and ego in the inner most part of our psyche. Listen to the spirit of the words of the bible and not just the words themselves. Come on, let’s be real, even using your logic and science, the numbers in favor of probable intelligent design far out weigh the astronomical numbers of CHANCE. Jesus put it this way…
"I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.”¬¬_ Luke 10:21
Finally, my question. Could you possibly be overlooking the find of your life?

What do you think it would be like if everyone on this forum were actually in the same place and met? Do you think we'd get along? Do you think we'd have fun? Would it be one big debate? Would everyone be segregated (atheists with atheits, Christians with Christians, Pagans with Pagans, etc)?

Or would it be just one big party?

to bring the lower classes under their control. I don't care what religion it is...Cathlic, Hindu, Muslim, Protestant, Lutherism, Jehovah's Witnesse...you are all victims of mind control, only you can't see it because your mind is under the control of people who have a lot to gain from organized religions. All your sacred books are nothing but a bunch of lies and perversions. I don't care what "sacred" book you use. There is nothing sacred about any of them. But, who am I to tell you what to believe? Go ahead and believe what ever you want, if it makes you happy. But ask yourself, right now, are you really any happier because of your religion?

I am trying to find a ancient myth that is similiar to a myth of modern times. Or it could be a little older just not ancient. It has to be in religion.

if they didn't give up their faith in the One True God but, she encouraged her children to die than to do that and Scripture says it will be recorded and her courage will be talked about forever, how come the Protestants removed this? If the Divine says she will be talked about forever, why is it that the Catholic Bible is the one that does that yet we take hits for not following the Bible? That's just wrong.

I need a psychic/intuitive to look into my future and ask my guardian angels if I can expect to be married to a woman in this lifetime?

The specific answers that I need are:

Who is she?

What is her name?

What does she look like?

How will I meet her?

When will I meet her?

How long will the marriage last? Will it be a happy one?

Please, only serious replies only. Thank you.

Galatians 1:8-9 states that we must not accept any 'gospel' preached to us which is different from the Bible. That alone undermines the very basis of the faith. It is not unreasonable to conclude that Satan, under the guise of the angel Moroni, deceived Joseph Smith, the founder, using him to set up a 'faith' to draw people away from the true Word of God.

First gay marraige killed the dinosaurs, now four out of five Baptist divorcees agree that it's undermining the sanctity of marriage. We must do something!

Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all like many of the principles on which this great country was founded; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of marriages like Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

Just to prove how confusing Christianity is, I'm almost for certain that many people, who will answer this question, will have different interpretations of the meaning. One religion but so many interpretations. (WHY? because NO ONE will have ANY solid facts. Truth is Truth but falsehood will ALWAYS have different interpretations) Just Watch! Also, there was another question that I had asked previously that pertains to THIS question. I'm willing to bet that the answer to THIS question will contradict the other Christians answers to my previous question. So be careful how you answer this question Christians....

I think it can be, in a way. In the movie, you have all of these characters, and some of them believe other things. They don't discriminate, and they don't make everything look like it came from a magazine. It's about acceptance. Accepting you for who you are, and others for who they are, without expecting anyone to change to your liking. What do you think? (And yes, I've watched both of them too much, my daughter is crazy about them)

Is there maybe one's that I've missed? I'm really confused at the moment. I'd never really thought about it before meeting Insomniac. What is your best argument?
