My sister married a Muslim man, and he won't go anywhere near her dogs. They have to stay outside all the time now, and it's sad. I guess not all muslims shun dogs like he does. I was just curious why, because I love all animals, and have many different pets (no dogs though) and wanted to make sure not to offend my brother in law when he comes to visit.Thank you for your intelligent explanations. I love the funny ones too.

we don't hate dogs, but what prophet Muhammad recommend is to get ride from the WILD dogs that could hurt people, these are the bad ones
regarding raising dogs at home, it's not completely forbidden but in Islam Angels do not enter a house where there is Dogs, also hanging pictures/idols/status of humans or animals stops angels from entering your home, that's why you never see a picture in a mosque. so Angels do not enter a house where there is a dog.

Muslims do not hate dogs..
Dogs r one of the prohibited animal in Islamic teachings..

in Islam there is no hate for anybody except forbidden things like drink alchole or eat pig meat etc. there is no such thing to hate dogs or cats. islam teaches love to all.
its only to take precationery measure when have any pet at home.

My sisters husband is Muslim and they have 2 Boxers, and I work with a guy who is Muslim and he has a bulldog.. so I dont know where you heard that wonderful theory

i m muslim but i dont hate dogs. and muslims dont hate dogs. We dont hate any animal. because God create them.

no we dont hate dogs we just been advised to stay away from them coz of their drool and if we touched them we need to do a special washing..some of muslim police in my country use dogs to catch criminals and afterward he need to do the special washing.
