Made ya look! Anyway, many say that every muslim has, what, a dozen kids or so? I have never in my 5 years of being a muslim met one of these people, and don't know any from my travels to Pakistan and Kuwait who had even close to that many, but ok. I personally have two, one of each, and plan to keep it that way.

So why do they say this, and why do the men dream of having large families? The Prophet (PBUH) himself even discouraged having too many children, even though children were loved, in the following quote. What do you think about it?

"The man I most emulate is a Muslim unencumbered; a man of small family, and little money, a performer of prayers and a perfect worshipper of God in private, one who is unknown, and hath enough to supply his wants, and when he dieth, he will leave few women to cry for him, and few legacies."

Let me start by saying I HAVE NO INTENTION OF OFFENDING ANYONE WITH THIS QUESTION but am only asking as I have little knowledge of the subject and am just trying to find out more in as honest a way as I can.

Now I have a Christian friend who tells me (in simple terms) that if you refute the existence of God, he will basically ignore you when you die and you'll go down to the Devil's realm.

Now the Devil and God are polar opposites of the Christian faith. So if you do not believe in one, and he ignores you, surely this would mean that you didn't believe in the other (Satan)...and therefore wouldn't he ignore you too, if you thought he was just as made-up as God?

Thanks for all seious and open-minded answers. Please no long cut-and-paste bible quotes (references welcome though)!

My brothers and sisters in Islam, they keep telling us we are being silent (heh, yeah, me, silent, big laugh!). They say not a single muslim speaks out. Even though we do on a daily basis.

What do you think of this?

""Mainstream theologians have come out unanimously against the terrorists. What we must now ask them is to campaign more strongly against the aberrant doctrines that underpin them", writes British Muslim convert scholar, Abdal-Hakim Murad."

Why do you think it has to do with religion? It's culture, pure screwed up woman hating culture. They take their cultural traditions, mix in a few things from Islam, and label the whole thing Islam. Want proof? Ok, fine, look at how on the victim's word the man is stoned to death.

Now I know I'm going to get "why is he stoned to death on her word" or "why does she need to be forgiven?"

Funny. It seems like no matter what anything says, you're never happy. You just want to find something to hate and fight about. How about getting some maturity and respecting differences while getting along?

"During the time of the Prophet (saw) punishment was inflicted on the rapist on the solitary evidence of the woman who was raped by him. Wa'il ibn Hujr reports of an incident when a woman was raped. Later, when some people came by, she identified and accused the man of raping her. They seized him and brought him to Allah's messenger, who said to the woman,

Does anyone know for certain who is in hell now?
Does our All Merciful Father, forgive and then punish, or punish and then forgive? If one is in hell, that must mean the Creator gave up on him. Does Our Father only give up on some? Is fear really such a good motivator for teaching love?

I'm a Chinese student and want to read the Bible these days. I have a King James Version but found it full of ancient English and too difficult for me, one who have never learned ancient English, to understand. thus i'm looking for a better version for me. it should be much more understandable. and it'd BETTER be translated well to reveal the true meaning of the Bible while use modern and understandable language.
ps: i mostly learn American English rather than British.
thank you.

Ive been reading my Bible and it from what I understand when Christ returns the dead will come back to life? Is that correct?

If that is true, then our souls must remain here on earth until the coming of the Lord?

So if we die we dont go up to heaven just yet? We have to wait for Jesus's return and then will we be judged?

Is that why John Edwards can speak to the dead?

There must be alot of spirits around if that is the case...

Im just asking for your interpretation and thoughts?

Bless You!

It seems that many atheists are very angry. Is it because they have been hurt by someone who claimed to be religious? How many people are atheists despite the fact that they are loved absolutely and unconditionally by someone of faith?

I would love to believe it is a religion of peace and love, because I believe God is love and merciful. But when I hear of men issuing fatwahs and people burning effigies and making death threats and blowing themselves up in the name of God or because someone said something about the Prophet, I really start to wonder.

Promises of heaven with virgins? To me sounds like an idea fabricated by the hearts of men.

Is Islam been manipulated by men?

First of all,

Christ is not only person who bron without father.

There are some kids that scientist coulde produce without any father and just from their mather.

If we consder Chirst as son of God just because He didn't had father so we should consider those kids as kids of God too.

Also Daly is sheep of God. lol

It is false beliefe that you say Chirst is son of God.

Prove it if you can?

I hope not! What do you think of this?

"Do you beat your own wife as you would a slave? That must you not do.

I (Muaviyah b. Haidah) said, "O Apostle of God! What is my duty to my wife?" He said, "That you give her to eat as you eat yourself, and clothe her as you clothe yourself; and do not slap her in the face nor abuse her, nor separate yourself from her in displeasure.

Give your wife good counsel; and if she has goodness in her, she will soon take it, and leave off idle talking; and do not beat your noble wife like a slave.

Muhammad said, "Beat not your wives." Then Omar came to the Rasul (Muhammad) and said, "Wives have got the upper hand from hearing this."

He is the most perfect Muslim whose disposition is best; and the best of you are they who behave best to their wives."

points to something they are doing against the Bible.

Common excuses I have heard are:
(I added my replies to these excuses)

"You're taking it out of context"
-Well then post the entire context and prove me wrong

"All my sins are forgiven and so that doesn't apply to me"
-Is the air up there fresh on that pedestal you climbed on?

"I know what the Bible says and I am right"
-If you knew what it says then you wouldn't be using it 'against' people

Well, I could go on and on with examples. Is it just basic arrogance or am I missing something?

An engineering professor is treating her husband, a loan officer, to dinner for finally giving in to her pleas to shave off the scraggly beard he grew on vacation. His favorite restaurant is a casual place where they both feel comfortable in slacks and cotton/polyester-blend golf shirts. But, as always, she wears the gold and pearl pendant he gave her the day her divorce decree was final. They're laughing over their menus because they know he always ends up diving into a giant plate of ribs but she won't be talked into anything more fattening than shrimp.

Quiz: How many biblical prohibitions are they violating? Well, wives are supposed to be 'submissive' to their husbands (I Peter 3:1). And all women are forbidden to teach men (I Timothy 2:12), wear gold or pearls (I Timothy 2:9) or dress in clothing that 'pertains to a man' (Deuteronomy 22:5). Shellfish and pork are definitely out (Leviticus 11:7, 10) as are usury (Deuteronomy 23:19), shaving (Leviticus 19:27)

Have you ever walked down a stray ally in the middle of a warm summers night and felt a cold chill in the air? Ever walked into a big old building and swear you just saw someone on the top of the stairs but there was no one else awake at that hour?... some ghosts not just spirits exist, and yes you are closed minded if you don't just believe something can happen without there being specific documented proof... take Christianity for instance, alot of that is based off of speculation, other then a book thats been translated 30 or so times by many different people, adding there own explanation for the words, is all we have of christ's time... And there are documented cases of spirits...
