Why do people keep separating catholics from Christians it des not make any logical sense to me. The definition of Christian is to believe in Jesus Christ, no? People People try to get along there is enough division in the religion for us to start doing division of subgroups now!

"...He (Jesus)was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God." MK 16:19
One of the two great achievements of an eminent biblical scholar of the nineteenth century, Lobegott Friedrich Konstantin Von Tischendorf, was the historical discovery of the oldest known Bible manuscript 'Codex Sinaiticus' from St. Catherine's Monastery in Mt. Sinai.
Dr. Tischendorf discovered that in this 5th century document the gospel of Mark ended at 16:8. In other words, the last 12 verses (9 to 20) were "injected" sometime after the 5th century. Clement of Alexandria and Origen never quoted these verses. You have quoted verse number 19. Today, in many of the revised versions of the Bible, the said last twelve verses appear within parentheses. (For further information please read 'Secrets of Mount Sinai' by James Bentley, Orbis, London, 1985).

".... Me being a Christian, I just cannot wait until all atheists, blasphemers, ridiculers are destroyed permently as then the earth will be a better place to live. No more chaos and craziness; all of that will end.

Also, I cannot wait until the false Christians and all of false religions are eliminated also. A True Christian is never intimidated or threated by a lowly atheist. Who told you that?

Scary world...very blasphemous. Can't wait until Armageddon."

Pascals wager is; if you're an atheist then you should worship god because then if it turns out your wrong you can still go to heaven. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN? Wouldn't it be full of jibbering religious nuts and boring people, whereas hell would be filled with, as well as murders etc., smart sophisticated intellectuals with an interest in science, philosophy, art and psychology. So.......?

We know that the bible tells us that we should view and treat our bodies as a temple. If that is the case why would circumcision be a practice that christians allow?

Most of the religions are simple and have one god.Hindus have 100 of books and 1000 of gods.Hindu was not a religion founded by some one.It was there from the begining.and will be there to the end.So its not a religion but its life and universe.Hindusum touches every thing you can guess about.I may know 2% of whole hinduisum. There is no strictness in this religion.U can follow the rules or not.It say the whole universe is you.every thing is inside you.To understand the real meaning of hinduisum its very difficult. We are taught to respect every one(not religion coz earlier times there where no religion--only one or two cultures --indian and roman)so hindus respect every religion and all cultures. We invited foriegners to our land with pleasure.Foriegners where attracted toward us coz india was rich that time and robbed all things.even though we where robbed we dint gone for war with them.coz we know that spiritual power is more important than materilistic earning and what ever u earn here u cannot take it while u go.even to understand the concept of hinduisum will take years for people following other religion.we dont compare,,or complaint any religion,as mahatma gandhi told differnt religions are different way to god which is supreme power..and hinduisum is way of life,,,,,

Are you glad many of us get to live in a country where we can practice whatever religion we want? Or are free to practice no religion at all? I think it's wonderful! We should all rejoice at the freedoms that we have and embrace our differences!

I, for one do not protect phedophiles. I don't care where it happens. That single individual matters above and beyond the circumstances that put her in harms way.

People, last night were saying that there wasn't much that we can do about it. Being to complacent keeps the perpetrators protected.
Is Amber in your thoughts today? Just say "Aye".

Judaism - Juda Tribe
Hinduism - Hind
Buddhism - Budda

that shows that these ppl were out just for attention

ISLAM - MUHAMMAD, only godly religion not named after the prophet. they dont even have the same meaning, that's 1 reason why i converted.

dont say islam is a bad religion, otherwise it wudnt be the fastest growing religion in the world. Muhammad Ali wasnt a bad guy, and Dave Chappelle is a moslim. they aint bad guys.

It has the following attributes of a religion:

It accepts something through faith (the non-existence of God).
It has its sacred scriptures and infallible figures (e.g. Richard Dawkins).
It is intolerant of dissent.
Its adherents are emotionally attached to their ideas.
It believes that by following its rules (or non-rules) one can be a better person.

Etc. etc.

By the way I'm not saying it's a religion. I'm just asking the question. And even if it is a religion, I'm not suggesting that's necessarily a bad thing.

I know the whole John 3:16 thing.

This 'eternal life' concept seems to be the main reason that most of you are Christians in the first place. You want to live forever, seated at God's holy buffet table after you die.

...but why? What is so appealing about living forever? For starters, there is absolutely no proof whatsoever of this concept. Furthermore, wouldn't you grow bored? You would eventually reach a point where you could attain all knowledge... and then what? What use does God have with you for an eternity?

I guess what I want to know is what is so appealing about existing forever after you die.

A question was asked that basically said that the govt should be able to dictate what people can preach at the pulpit. I stated that I didnt want fundies in my govt but that it meant my govt shouldnt be able to dictate what they said in their church and I got thumbs down.
Isnt it a bit hypocritical to dictate what can and cannot be preached about while at the same time attempting to keep church seperate from state?
