First, Islam is not the fastest growing religion in the world.

Second, the term Muslim or Musselman, comes from Mohammed.

Third, all religions are man-made. All are organized superstitions. And all have done much harm in to society.

God is just pretend.

In Sanskrit, Buddha means the ‘Awakened One’. Buddha's name was actually Siddhartha Gautama.

Jainism is also not named after its founder.

In Sanskrit, Ji means 'to conquer', and Jina means 'Conqueror'. Hence, Jains are the followers of the Conquerors.

"only godly religion not named after the prophet. they dont even have the same meaning, that's 1 reason why i converted."

You converted and that’s good for you, but that is not a very justifiable reason to do so. Sorry. You are supposed to convert because you like the teachings of the religion, not because it’s ‘not named after a prophet’. Besides, who cares if it was, it would still teach the same thing. And Islam is not a fashion statement, so just because Muhammad Ali is Muslim, doesn't mean you must follow the trend too.

Hey well i think every religion should be respected n theres a perfectly gud story behind it all. n its precious 2 every individual. n each of the ppl of each of those religions ev their own reasons n purposes behind it. like hw u ev a gud reason 4 ur religion n hw it goes n it actually is, coz u luv ur religion n its same 4 others too! 4 example u as moslim, u knw n understand ur religion n would ike others 2 feel d way u feel about it n knw about it. but they won't only those of d same religion will. but all others can do is respect n except the islam. No religions r seeking 4 attention, its their own beliefs. religion is important 2 ever1 in their life n its wht helps them through life so putting other religions down wont do the world any favours in proving them wrong. Do i make sense?? tell me if i'm wrong??

Well, gee, if Muhammad Ali and Dave Chapelle did it, I guess it's ok!

It's still the same as every other religion. Man-made, flawed, outdated. If it works for you, that's fine, but trying to preach to the world that it is the only way for everyone makes you sound as bad as the Christians.

Christian-Anglican. via fact i glance at life and understand how each thing is a lot too suitable to be formed via 'risk'. DNA is so particularly state-of-the-artwork that it must be formed from divine creation. the huge bang, each thing made out of no longer something for no reason? i think of greater like God created the universe. particularly the bible. The miricles of Jesus are surprising! Water to wine, therapeutic limitless of human beings, feeding of the 5000 and the biggie coming back to life after being lifeless for 3 days! And his promise of salvation is so staggering. He promises us eternal life with him in heaven and all we could do is settle for him into our hearts.

The same reason any large-scale organization or 'product' is named.

Ford
Chevrolet
Proctor & Gamble
Ben & Jerry

Each faith has to be separate and identifiable from the other faiths. How would you do that? Well, you could name it in some unique way. Location, or person(s) of major influence. It's not specific to religion, that's just humans way of categorizing life.

Well first I need to point out that they are not normally named after their founder by those following them.
Christianity, founded by Paul.
Judaism was founded by the tribe Israel actually.
Hindu we can not be sure who founded it. It seems to have been imported by the Aryan invaders.
Buddhism is another of those where the founders have been lost.
Note that Jesus, Abraham, Buddha and all the rest appear to be mythological beings with often conflicting accounts of their lives and no support outside of their cults for their ever having existed.

Does it even matter what you are called?

I can't even understand the logic behind this question? If you were truly a Muslim you would not have asked this question... You would have respected at least Prophets that were sent to Bani Israel.

This is totally absurd!

Christianity was originally called "The Way" by it's early followers. They were first called "Christians" in ancient Antioch (see Acts in the NT)

Muslims for many years were referred to as "Mohammedans", and still are by some.

hehe. Jesus didn't name Christianity. And his last name wasn't Christ.

Hind? Who is THAT?

Buddhism is a title. Follow the path and you, too, can become a Buddha. It's not a name.

What next? Atheism was made up by the late, great "Athei?"
