Yes I am glad that we are in a "free" country! I know that being free cost a lot! I know that being a christian I am glad that it is against the law to be persecuted for my beliefs! I have lived in many states across the US and the further west you live the less tolerant people are with outward expression of you faith. I am now in North East Texas and Very Happy. I can tell anyone I want that I believe the Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven! There are people and I do not believe its the Christians, that are trying to control freedom of speech and freedom of religion! I want my children to be able to pray in school if they wish! I also think that I have the right, in our free country, to say that I do NOT believe that being gay is OK I think its wrong. I know that there is a law trying to get passed that will limit my freedom to do this. I pray that it does not get passed. I pray for the people making these decisions daily! I pray they have wisdom in their decisions! And I thank the Lord for President Bush every day!!!
GOD BLESS YOU!!!

I do love this country. I have traveled extensively and lived overseas. And while there are many faults and much to be concerned about here at home, the U.S. is still the most wonderful country on the planet.
But there is much going on here since 9/11 that concerns me. Our liberties have, in fact, been eroded by the Bush administration. Through the incessant chanting of "Threat level Orange, Threat Level Orange" we have been conditioned to accept that the government is watching and controlling every aspect of our lives, and this is wrong. President Bush has used "signing memos" to declare himself immune from more than 1,000 laws -- which is a dangerous violation of the very foundation laid by the authors of the constitution, that we should be a country of laws and that everyone should be subject to the same laws and none above them.
What I hope and pray for is the day when there are no countries and no borders . . . when we all live together in love and tolerance and mutual respect. The U.S. has been a grand experiment and is probably the model that can work on a global basis . . . but at this moment in history the experiment is really under serious threat from within, by our own government.

Yes, I am so glad about this. I could have been born into say, a family living in the Darfur region, or into a family living in a country where it is illegal to practice Christianity. I was blessed because I was born to a Christian family in America.

Everyday I thank my lucky stars that I am born and live in a free country where there is reedom of speech, religion, equal rights for all and pure harmony among all of our peoples. I am glad that, for example, I don't live in a police, terrorist state such as the USA where the citizens don't even realise that they have no freedoms. Eat your hearts out!

Congraduation to you that you are in a positive emotional. Everything you turn yourself to a happy tune to face it. As per budhaist sutras, you are in certain point of compassion and you are entering a god level. If you can keep to understand what you are doing and understand what the karma will be and happy to face of any karmas coming to you. You soon be a Budha.

Can't argue with that. As for freedom of or from religion, there are plenty of individuals in this country that threaten people with eternal torture if they don't believe in a certain way, the President of this country wants everyone to believe in and adhere to his religious beliefs, and people still kill each other over religion. We still have a long way to go to obtain our Constitutional guarantees.

I moved from Britain to America, from a country which is pretty much free to one where religious parties are trying to restrict freedom. Be warned; this is not a trivial problem.

You did not mention which country you live in. I sometimes wonder if we live in a free country. I am undergoing Administration Studies at the moment, and I do not get my certificate if I do not do the first aid course, as I would never render first aid or become a first aid officer, why do I have to do this, is this not a communistic act, forcing me to do that which I wish not to do, just to achieve what I want, actually there is another name for that, but this is not the place for it.
