No. I believe in God because I know that He created me and I am very grateful to Him.

Good question though!

Pascal's wager is an/a Child's arguement.

No "Mature" Christian uses that.

The argument that believing in God is the most logical thing to do since if there is a God and you deny him, then you are in trouble. If there is no god and you accept him, there is no problem because it doesn't matter. Logically, it is better to not deny that God exists than to deny he does. There is truth to this argument, but the problem is that it does not define which "god" to believe in since in many religions, believing in a different god brings a punishing judgment. Nevertheless, this does not excuse a person from at least trying to discover if there is a God or not and who He might be.

This question, as asked, makes no sense. Being a Christian is not about "avoiding hell" but about being a good person.

You cannot "believe in something" just because you are afraid not to. You can pretend to but you either really believe in God or you don't.

If I told you 2+2=5 and I will kill you if you don't believe it, you may well tell me that you believe it out of fear but you wouldn't really believe it.

I'm sure there are. I'm not one of them though. I only use Pascal's wager as a last resort.

I mentioned Pascal's Wager to an atheist yesterday and he proved it to be a fallacy. Then he reverted me to atheism.

I do not know about others but but if given the choice between hell and heaven, it is very clear to me that I would never choose hell. I do not wish anyone to hell but I believe it is real place.

No, I have not mentioned P S to atheists. I do not think that is the way to go about it.
