I'm a Chinese student and want to read the Bible these days. I have a King James Version but found it full of ancient English and too difficult for me, one who have never learned ancient English, to understand. thus i'm looking for a better version for me. it should be much more understandable. and it'd BETTER be translated well to reveal the true meaning of the Bible while use modern and understandable language.
ps: i mostly learn American English rather than British.
thank you.

I agree about the can of worms.
In our locality (in England), we advise immigrants to get a Bible in their own language and read it alongside what we consider a middle-of-the-road translation such as the NIV. We can provide some Bibles in another language or they can be obtained on the Internet. Some recommend the Good News Bible which is a well-known paraphrase. They can move onto more accurate translations later.

there have been many translations earlier the KJV and various translations AFTER the KJV. The King James isn't the be all to end all. it rather is basically in all possibility the single your grandparents had and additionally you grew up with. that does no longer make it the only one. There are surviving in the present day approximately 11,000 copies of unique Hebrew and Greek manuscripts of the books of the Bible. in case you desire to examine the Bible as Jesus and his disciples used, then examine Hebrew and Greek. maximum individuals don't have the time to examine 2 new languages. Our lives are complete sufficient with on a daily basis issues we could do. lots of the translations do come very close to to the oldest texts translated. they selection little. What differences is our modern-day language. what words recommend in the present day isn't comparable to an analogous words 50 years in the past. don't have self belief me? look into previous video clips the place they use the be conscious "gay" to describe being happy. does not relatively have an analogous meaning in the present day, does it? would you have any worry approximately ingesting what you will locate in a "shambles"? a million Corinthians 10:25 interior the KJV says you could no longer worry. So are you? an analogous verse interior the hot international Translation, that's in modern-day English, exhibits it to be a "meat marketplace". think of that? The words of J.ok. Rawlings while translated into yet another language many situations don't have an analogous words. In translation, a be conscious would be translated diverse tactics on an analogous time, interior an analogous language. it may flow the two way. only like the previous television sequence "star Trek" in Japan grow to be "Mr. Sulu". those are the justifications for many of translations in an attempt for the lots of the earth's inhabitants to be waiting to examine the Bible. It grow to be written for each human on earth.
