The proverbial finger points, once again, to Mormonism, where the men are allowed to have multiple wives but the women cannot take multiple husbands.

One chapter of Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code notes that within churches of the Catholic group Opus Dei, the nuns have to serve their male counterparts. (Though some parts of the book are fictional and based on conjecture, like the theory of the Last Supper painting, Brown's research is usually pretty sound.)

The ultimate blow, however, has to come from the Bible itself: Genesis 3:26 - 'Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.'

What's going on?

That verse means that married women need to submit to husbands. Just have respect etc. It doesn't mean that we are their "slaves". There is a verse for men also. They are to love their wives as Christ loved the church. He laid down his life for the church. SOOO THERE!! Marriage works both ways if the husband is treating the wife correctly she will then in turn treat the husband correctly and how he wants to b treated.

I don't know why you singled out Mormons. When I was trying to be a mainstream Christian I was expected to spend all my free time working at the church because I was a single woman with no children, and therefore presumed to have no purpose in life and should spend my time doing church work until I got married and bred. Which apparently is all women are good for.

We don't ever expect that here is a man to be a believer of a fiction and his idol is Dan Brown and his favorite book is Da Vinci Code instead of the bible. How funny it is.

When the Bible was written and when all or at least most religions were invented, the general consensus was that men were dominant over women. And they were. It wasn't right but its something we're still correcting today. Its hard for us as humans to break free from what we've been taught.

As you well know, you heathen, the Lord GOD is a Man and he invented Men. Woman was made later to be a companion and plaything for Man after he had checked out all the other animals.

Or, Western relgions that follow in the Judeo-Christian-Islamic pattern were founded by strongly paternalistic societies where Might Makes Right. Men invented God and Religion to exercise control over society, and most importantly control over women, whom they considered property.

Pastors of church homes vs "lay human beings"; i.e. in the catholic church, females are no longer allowed to be priests... and in others, this is confusing for females to improve to an more suitable place. even with the reality that we see that many females have performed the purpose of managers, or severe positions of their careers, it grew to become into in all probability very confusing for them to realize that purpose. the two they might desire to "understand somebody" or be fairly aggressive and understand the responsibilities of the situation they want. There are, statistically, greater adult adult males in CEO positions etc than females. greater adult adult males in Athletic positions then females (have you ever seen a woman on a consultant baseball group like the Cubs or the Lions?) appropriate desires!

I'm a Christian woman, and hard as it is to admit, God made man first! And woman was decieved by Satan and led man to sin as well. I somtimes have a difficult time with this, but I know that God appointed man over woman for a reason. God made man in his own image, to like Him, so for that reason alone I believe that God should have appointed man to rule over the woman. Not many women will like it, but that's what I believe.

What's going on is that men think they're more knowledgeable than God about what God wants and that men invent religions for a variety of reasons.
