I've been accussed a few times now of being inspired by satan when I put forward atheist viewpoints.

What I find interesting about this, is that I follow my life in a peaceful fashion, try to do what I can to make the world a better place, and I'm raising my children to live the same way.

Yet I see conservative christian political leaders rushing into wars and suggesting that it's wrong to negotiate with your enemy, etc.

It would seem to me, that if I'm being inspired by satan (whom I don't believe exists), then maybe he's not such a bad guy after all.

Would the world perhaps be a better place if the muslims and christians who are so keen to fight each other were inspired by satan rather than their gods?

I'm not suggesting that people should be inspired by evil..........just that people who decide someone is evil for having differing views from theirs, should perhaps stand aside from their beliefs and look at the statements they are making from a different perspective.

I love "a word-a-day" www.wordsmith.org

Today's quote by James Baldwin, writer (1924-1987) is too true. So, help me understand how some people can see themselvs from another point of view and others NEVER can.

Ezekiel 36 & 37 tells us that God will regather the Jews to Israel after they have been scattered throughout the world. Ezekiel 38 & 39 warns us of Israel's invasion during the "latter days" (Eze. 38:8 & 16) by a coalition of countries. This confirms that Israel must be re-established first. For this and other reasons, many of us have concluded we are in the "end times." Of course, the end of this process will be the glorification of God before all the world and the victory of the Jewish people over those who have oppressed them.

But there is another country God has also scattered throughout the world, only to be regathered in the end times: but this country will be gathered to receive judgement, not glory. Provide the ancient name of that country; its current name; the Scriptural reference; explain how part of the prophecy is already fulfilled; and speculate (based on prophecy) how God plans to judge this nation.

This is a tough one, BUT IT'S WORTH IT!

Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe that only 144,000 people will have everlasting life and go to Heaven?

And, if so, what do they believe is the fate of the billions and billions of other souls?

This is clearly not a Christian belief, as Christianity says that any person who believes in Christ will be saved.

I am very curious about this, and would appreciate any information?

Do any other religions share this same doctrine about 144,000?

What the Heck is wrong with those atheists? Atleast all the other religons respect each other. I mean it I have seen like 17 posts about how people hate God and how people think Catholics are dumb! I am Catholic and I will Believe in GOD forever. But one thing I will NEVER do is say a Religon is stupid.

How about a church/pastor/religion who called the divorced and remarried people an abomination?

How about a church/pastor/religion that said that anyone who filed bankruptcy or defaulted on a student loan was a degenerate?

So, why do you tolerate a church/pastor/religion that uses such names to describe the supposed "sin" of homosexuality?

From a literal interpretation of the Bible, those who do not turn from their sin of adultery/divorce by being celibate, obesity/glutton by losing weight, or stealing/bankruptcy by repaying the debt, will not inherit the kingdom of God. Just as fundies say, homosexuals who do not turn will not go to heaven.

So, why do you tolerate such hateful words and actions towards homosexuals by the fundamentalists...degenrate, abomination, scum of the earth...but, would not tolerate such language in relation to other suppsed "sinners"?

Serious question,

Let's say your teenage child approaches you with two envelopes in hand. He/she says, "Mom/Dad, I've received two full scholarships to two different universities. One is (any ivy league school -- Harvard, Yale, etc), and the other is to (any religiously based school -- Bob Jones, etc.). Which should I choose?"

Which school would you advise your child to attend, and why?

This is simply a curiousity question, no right or wrong answer.

In following up on a different question altogether, I came across this, which I have not read in many a year. http://www.warprayer.org Are you going to book-mark it, as I have? We do need to remember, don't we, both the spoken and the unspoken in our prayers.

Please forgive this off topic question, but I need some tips and value the opinions of the R&S Regulars...

My company is currently hiring a receptionist for the front office of the upstairs where I work and I have been put in charge of doing the hiring as well as the interviewing process. I am conducting my first interview this morning in one hour. This is the first interview I have ever conducted by myself. I know some basic questions that I plan on asking the applicant as well as some questions I have about her resume and I plan on giving her a brief idea of the job description and explaining a bit about our company.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Questions I should ask, etc?
