Very well put!
The whole "satan inspires atheists" is getting so worn out. It's like.. when all of their "logical" arguments are shot down they resort to telling us we're going to hell or we're cohorts with satan. It's truly pathetic if you think about it. Some of the christian (especially fundie) behavior is more fitting of an evil person like the character of satan is portrayed. Although, god has been written to be rather evil in many parts of the bible too. Maybe religion itself is just evil.

I'll try and address all of your concerns as best I can. This is a very perceptive question. Thank you for asking.
-I've been accussed a few times now of being inspired by satan when I put forward atheist viewpoints.
Answer: Satan will always force his way into human lives, even in the most subtle ways. He is the deceiver, the hater of light, the enemy.
-What I find interesting about this, is that I follow my life in a peaceful fashion, try to do what I can to make the world a better place, and I'm raising my children to live the same way.
Answer: It is good that you do this, however Satan doesn't really care what you do in life as long as you don't believe in the One who died for your sins in the first place. (John 3:16)
Satan wants you to be swallowed by Hell so that he can subject your everlasting spirit to eternal torture.
-Yet I see conservative christian political leaders rushing into wars and suggesting that it's wrong to negotiate with your enemy, etc.
Answer: This in itself is contradictory to what Jesus taught us about loving our enemies. War itself is contradictory to his teachings throughout the Gospels. No human can follow the Word of God perfectly, so you cannot base Christianity on its followers because we, like you, are imperfect.
-It would seem to me, that if I'm being inspired by satan (whom I don't believe exists), then maybe he's not such a bad guy after all.
Answer: Why would you consider someone good or bad if you don't think he exists? The truth is, Satan is real, and so is Hell. (2 Thessalonians 1:8)
-Would the world perhaps be a better place if the muslims and christians who are so keen to fight each other were inspired by satan rather than their gods?
Answer: No, seeing as Satan tries to drive us to sin. What makes you think he isn't trying to work his evil into the lives of Christians and Muslims? How do you know whether it is Satan or God who gives us the idea to fight and kill our own?
-I'm not suggesting that people should be inspired by evil..........just that people who decide someone is evil for having differing views from theirs, should perhaps stand aside from their beliefs and look at the statements they are making from a different perspective.
Answer: I strongly agree. I myself had an atheistic perspective on life when I was younger, and for me it raised more questions than answers. I would strongly urge you to take your own advice and try and see us from our perspective, so you may understand what we see.

Well, an atheist who believes in evolution might be led to believe in a master race, being more evolved than others, of which he or she is a member. This might in turn lead to the rise of someone who believes that certain other races are inferior and should be controlled or even eliminated. The mission of Satan is to dominate humanity and eliminate all who oppose.
Peace should be negotiated but we must also be vigilant to defend ourselves from hostility.
I do not believe I have ever encountered a conservative political leader who ever kept the teaching of Christ.
I love looking at things from different perspectives and appreciate your interesting take on things. You must however be aware that this question will be viewed as inflammitory on both sides of the religious fence. The atheists I know do not like being associated with Satan at all (I do not currently know any AntonLevay atheists who might disagree). The Christians I know do not like associating Satan with "peace loving" guys.

That's an excellent point. It seems a lot of people like to define evil, or Satan for believers, as people who disagree with their particular worldview. If people like Mark Twain, Noam Chomsky, Gore Vidal, and Carl Sagan are inspired by Satan, then I must give the prince of darkness a nod of approval on his good work.

It's sad when the believers will tell you that the fact that you don't believe in god is PROOF that you have fallen prey to Satan and his ultimate plan. Nothing better than using misdirection to show proof misdirection. I live my life the best that i know how, I offer assistance to those that need it, I volunteer time and money to worthy causes. The church would ask us to do the same but since that time and money isn't going to them I MUST be under Satan's influence. I'll tell all the believers this, you do it your way, I'll do it mine and we will both be better for it except I'll accept you for being a good person and you can condemn me to hell because I don't hold your beliefs.

You're talking about many different things here. Putting forth athiest viewpoints has nothing to do with living life in a peaceful fashion.
Satan doesn't inspire anyone towards peace.
1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Just because some "conservative christian political leaders" do things doesn't mean it's what Christianity teaches. We get this all the time. Being a Christian doesn't mean always making the correct choices. It doesn't make us perfect. Don't look at any man as the example of Christianity, look at Christ.

Atheists are not inspired by Satan, that a stupidity probably brought up by religious fanatics. Atheists have the right to their own point of view, the same way we believers have ours.

what i don't get is that if someone is atheist, that means they don't believe in religion, and satan is part of a couple religions how can an atheist be inspired by a religious figure, even if it does mean evil.
I totally agree with your last paragraph.
Buddhism is great because of the path it follws and stays to unlike some religions out their that claim one thing and do the opposite

"Yet I see conservative christian political leaders rushing into wars and suggesting that it's wrong to negotiate with your enemy, etc."
That part of your question is totally ridiculous.
Saddam could have prevented the war at anytime.
The UN had sanctions in place, with Iraq for about 13 years and Saddam defied every single one. We are currently talking with Iran, and trying to get North Korea to talk.
The USA is in constant negotiations to prevent war.
Btw, Clinton ( both of them), pounded the war drums for all of the 8 years he was president.
Satan must be blocking your ability to see things as they really are. But you have selective hindsight, like most people.

There is quite a bit of irony in this question. Those muslims and christians who are so keen to fight each other ARE being inspired by satan rather than by God. Read their religious doctrine to see this is true.
