the bibles states that ones body is a temple for the holy spirit to reside in..You must take care of something so important to God.

Well, keeping fit makes us more useful for the purposes Heaven has given us. I am considerably less useful to God, if my body can no longer do things for Him. But on the other hand, if there should come a day that a murder-oriented unbeliever will try to kill me, I shall not desire to defend against him or her, because the Lord has stated that this must occur, and has caused me to become a missionary of His love towards the salvation of as many as will have Him.

They value life and want to make the best of it. God gave them life. If they throw it away, they aren't valueing it. They also want to stay alive to serve god. If they committed suicide, it'd be a form of murder, which is a sin. I don't know. I'm religious, but not overly religious, and these are sort of my views that I have found common in others. Also, life is good, maybe heaven is great, but heaven is forever, life isn't. We should value and extend the time we have on earth as much as we can.

Christians are saved not just to go to heaven but to serve God on earth and build treasures in heaven as long as they can. A Christian living in divine health is good testimony for God.

Because we have things to accomplish for God in this life. There are still people starving who need to be feed. People hurting who need to be comforted. People lost who need to be found. People injured who need to be healed. Once we are dead, we can do longer do those things. Since we are called to love others, we willing sacrifice the pleasures of heaven to remain on earth for a time to serve them (and God).

Speaking as a Christian and from a Christian's perspective - Jesus came to give us eternal life, everlasting life, you shall not see death if you eat of my flesh (Jesus the Bread of Life- Holy communion feast or observation)

Christians on the whole did not get it right - they preaches when you die where will you go - meaning if you believes you go to heaven which is also true but for those who believes they will never die will put on immortality - That's what I believes - I shall not die-the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has not only die for my sin but also for my death.

If Jesus dies for my death, I die no more. and I believes !

Why wouldn't God's people take care of themselves? God put us here to live long, healthy lives. We must all die, but that doesn't mean we're supposed to neglect our bodies. Makes no sense.

Likewise, why do atheists smoke? People aren't logical.
