Ezekiel 36 & 37 tells us that God will regather the Jews to Israel after they have been scattered throughout the world. Ezekiel 38 & 39 warns us of Israel's invasion during the "latter days" (Eze. 38:8 & 16) by a coalition of countries. This confirms that Israel must be re-established first. For this and other reasons, many of us have concluded we are in the "end times." Of course, the end of this process will be the glorification of God before all the world and the victory of the Jewish people over those who have oppressed them.

But there is another country God has also scattered throughout the world, only to be regathered in the end times: but this country will be gathered to receive judgement, not glory. Provide the ancient name of that country; its current name; the Scriptural reference; explain how part of the prophecy is already fulfilled; and speculate (based on prophecy) how God plans to judge this nation.

This is a tough one, BUT IT'S WORTH IT!

Sorry, Father K -- I can relate. Go have your coffee, then come back. I have a feeling you can answer this one.

Sorry, Primo, I don't mean to kill anyone! Have some coffee with Father K, think about it for awhile, then come back. I know you can come up with the answer.

Teach, I don't believe in Replacement Theology, so .......

Palms, it's obvious that you're a Jehovah's Witness. Since you believe in Replacement Theology, this question will confuse you. I find it incredibly ironic that you'd accuse me of twisting Scripture.

HINT: The prophecy to which I'm referring does not mention Babylon.

I don't know who's giving all the "thumbs down" here -- folks, it's just a question. No need to get all judgemental and stuff.

CMW: nope, but a few have gotten close. The "Palestinians" are actually Syrian and Egyptian refugees.

Mark101112: I believe that ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES ... you are ... wrong ... as well.

Because if you notice ...

while not all Jews are "ISRAEL" (i.e. the renmant) ...

NEVER

does God

equate Israel with the Church.

By the time their Messiah returns, ALL Israel (the Jewish remnant) will be SAVED.

Do not confuse the Church with Israel. This is "Replacement Theology" and is a big no-no to the Big Man.

Hint #2: look in Jeremiah.

Tzadiq, to make things simple, when I refer to someone as being a Jew, I am referring to a person who is *physically* descended from Abraham AND Isaac AND Jacob (Israel). I understand Gentiles are "grafted in" by belief in Yeshua. However, I reject Replacement Theology as being unscriptural; i.e. I do not believe the Church has replaced the Jewish people. My teacher is a Messianic Jewish scholar (with multiple advanced degrees) and this is what I have been taught.

Elam is the nation that was scattered, and then will be regathered. (See Jeremiah 49:34-39)

Its current name is Iran.

As to how the prophecy is fulfilled, and speculation about the pending judgment, I need my coffee too! :-D (8:00 am here...)

Suzanne

Your in slight error. The house of Israel will be gathered together to the land. The house of Israel is both Judah (the Jews) and Ephriam (the so called lost ten tribes) As it pointed out in Ezekiel 37 he will rejoin the two houses and the animosty between the two houses will be no more.

I repeat and go check this out, It is not the Jews who are to be gathered but The House of Israel. That would be all 12 tribes not just the tribe of Judah Benjamin and the Levites who became known as the "Jews" .

Secondly the believers in Yahshua do not replace Israel but are "grafted into Israel." It has always been so. Even before the Israelites became a nation those "strangers" or foriegners who joined themselves to YHVH were accepted and became as one of the native born. It was not even allowed for it to be mentioned that they were not native born.

So far the Jewish Government of Israel will not allow non-Jews to do alliah to the nation of Israel. I believe this will change soon however. I see a war brewing against the Jews and I see the Palastinians being ejected as a result of the war. I think at this time because of the work of the Messianic community in Israel that our Jewish brothers will open up the land to believers and a large portion of those are Israelites and just don't know it. Also many non physical but spiritual Israelites will be allowed into the land.

The second part of your question is of course Edom. Quite frankly there will be punishment of Moab and Ammon too, the sons of Lot, and that corrisponds to modern day Jordon.

Esau or Edom I believe is Modern day Saudi Arabia. It is the east wind that withers. It is also the seat of Islam. It will be judged and judged very severly. It really is as simple as taking a look at a map of the times and seeing where the nations were. I'm thinking that the radical islamist in particular will most likely be the decendents of Esau/Edom.

This was the simple answer the long answer would never get read but I'd love to discuss this with you at length if you so wish.

I sincerly hope that your "rabbi" isn't passing this nonsense of the idea that "Jewish" means all of Israel. If he is you need to look to your only real rabbi, Yahshua Messiah.

Edit: I do not believe in replacement theology either. I believe that many of the Western European countries are decendants of the origianal ten lost tribes. I'm just saying that many of them have become christian. And why not? The would have ancient tribal memories even if submerged of the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob of whom Jacob made them swear on his death bed would always be their God.

I know "rabbis" with a lot of degrees too. Sister, and I mean that most sincerely, It is by the power of the spirit that we understand the scripture not by the amount of sheepskin we hang on our walls. God calls the foolish and the simple. Not many wise men are called. I've found that most educated people way overthink the scripture.

Assuming you're using the Bible and not the Book of Mormon or some other such corruption/false 'holy book', then I can only think of the people of Shinar, who built the Tower of Babel in the area later known as Babylon, currently Iraq (Gen. 11:1-10). We pretty much ALL originate from here, and those who haven't accepted Christ as God, Lord and Saviour -- including 2/3 of Jews alive in the 7-year Tribulation period (see Zech. Ch's 12-14) -- are gathered to this Battle for Judgement (Revelation Chapter 16 - 20). If not, then I'm sorry, but you've beaten me.
God bless you as you work for Christ.

Well, I am not a scholar by any means, but what about this?

14 The LORD said to me, "From the north disaster will be poured out on all who live in the land. 15 I am about to summon all the peoples of the northern kingdoms," declares the LORD.
"Their kings will come and set up their thrones
in the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem;
they will come against all her surrounding walls
and against all the towns of Judah.

The Valley of Slaughter
30 " 'The people of Judah have done evil in my eyes, declares the LORD. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it. 31 They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire—something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind. 32 So beware, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when people will no longer call it Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter, for they will bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room. 33 Then the carcasses of this people will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to frighten them away. 34 I will bring an end to the sounds of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride and bridegroom in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem, for the land will become desolate.

I believe the promises and prophecies in the Bible pertaining to the ancien tJewish nation (God's chosen people to carry the good news to the whole world) is given to spiritual Jews (Christians) now because the Jews, as a nation, rejected the God's Son, jJesus Christ as the Messiah. I will address this point you stated:

"Of course, the end of this process will be the glorification of God before all the world and the victory of the Jewish people over those who have oppressed them".

It is not just the Jewish people that will have victory, it is all who live their lives in harmony with Godly standards and those of his Son, Jesus Christ.

Acts 10: 34 - 35 ..."God is not partial, for any man from any nation who works righteousness is acceptable to him"..

Don't just think that when Jehovah God sends his son to take wrath upon this earth at Armageddon, removing all the wicked and destroying them that reside in this earth now, that he will just save Jewish people. All those that love him and do his will including acknowledging his son, Jesus Christ (as he is the one who will be sent to take war against the wicked in the earth at Armageddon) will receive the gift of everlasting life on a paradise earth with the exception of the 144,000 that are of that heavenly class.

It is important that if you go public with your beliefs that they must be based on completely truthful Bible and Godly standards. Never try to change them to fit your prejudices, or fit an immoral lifestyle.

I want to say Babylon....now known as modern day Iraq.....

But then again....Babylon is also a metaphor for Rome....

I need to do some research....you're killing me, Suzanne....

But we love you.

Edit:
Revelation 18:1-3
1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.
2 With a mighty voice he shouted:
"Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!
She has become a home for demons
and a haunt for every evil[a] spirit,
a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird.
3 For all the nations have drunk
the maddening wine of her adulteries.
The kings of the earth committed adultery with her,
and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."

I believe... that According To THE SCRIPTURES.... YOU ARE WRONG!

You use the Term ... JEWS!

GOD... uses the Term... ISRAEL!

(Romans 9:6-7-8) Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. = = For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

(Rom 9:7) Neither, = = because they are the seed of Abraham, = = are they all children: = = but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

(Rom 9:8) That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: = = but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

AND....

(Revelation 2:9) I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and = = I know = = the blasphemy = = of them which say = = they are Jews, = = and are not, = = but are = = the synagogue of Satan.

YES.... the Nation of GOD.... Commonly Called... JEWS.... will be Restored.... and YET... ONLY A REMNANT.... "Are... ISRAEL"

AND.......

(Galatians 6:16) And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon = = = the Israel of God.

Thanks, RR

I believe that lost tribe that you are talking about is the Ishmaelites. The Ishmaelites are today's Arabs. This is where we get Israels problems from. Israel was formed in May of 1948 and is currently being surrounded by an Arab terrorist nation. Prophecy is being fulfilled.

preach the word of salvation-and I believe it is an empire not a country-countries are not scattered its people are. Including Babylon Persia now contained in the Arab nations from iraq it is found in Daniel and Revelations, and has been disbanded and yet is regathering to come against Israel.

and yet if a person is a scholar let it be of salvation and the rest will fall into place=true belief in Jesus-worked for me=Live

Isaiah 9:6 predicted Yeshua/Jesus/Esa would be almighty God

"Unto us a child is born, a son is given, and He will be almighty God, the prince of peace."

we reap what we sow. its good in the blessed light.

in amazing grace that saved me=John 3 repented of my sins, and let Jesus in my heart to be my savior and best friend. He promised "I love you and knock on your heart door to come in when you repent (even of one lie) do it quickly, Behold I stand at your heart door and knock, if you let me in I will be your friend." Revelation 3:19&20
so I prayed to be helped too = "Jesus thanks that you love me, I am sorry for my sins so help me do better, come into my heart and be my friend, amen."
this changed my life wonderfully and gave me inner peace in the midst of storms and now I have Jesus the good shepherd to guide my life happily each day Psalm 23 & John 10 in the more abundant life!

prayin for you too the best, David a panmillenialist-though i am premillenial and feel those who are Messianic Jewish or lovers of Israel in the Messiah will be left at the rapture before the tribulation to help the Jewish people to believe-yet it will all pan out either way-in Jesus hands.
