In other words, when you read the Q&A's of your Christian brethren on this site, do you think that yourself and other R&S Christians are collectively bringing non-Christians closer to God, or driving them further away?

Like Spark and Rachel, I don't come here to accomplish anything. I don't believe I have all the answers, only wish to share my perspective while learning from others.

I think your assumption that ALL Christians have the exact same agenda is false. While there are quite a few here who seek to evangelize the R & S non-Christians, many of us simply want to share God's compassion and wisdom with others. (perhaps that's the best way to "evangelize"?)

Of course, I and others often fail in this goal. And there are times when I read a series of narrow-minded answers by Christians that I feel that perhaps I've chosen the wrong faith after all!

All the best.

I don't really have an agenda being here, so for me there are no goals to accomplish. I just like discussing things and enjoy differing viewpoints. I do hope, however, that I never display ignorance, bigotry, or uncalled for rudeness.

If we're talking about Christians collectively, however, we're failing miserably. If all I had to base my opinion of God and Christianity was what people say on this website, I would have dropped my faith long ago.

I believe the Bible makes it clear that it's my responsibility to present you with the Good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What you do with that knowledge is between you and God Almighty. I personally try to present the Gospel as matter-of-factly as I can, not trying to beat somebody over the head with it, but also not sugar coating the Word of God.
Truth is harsh and hard to accept on many occasions. I know because God turns the light on me and my failures and limitations daily, especially if I begin to believe I have something to brag about. But I would not for anything change the words of Jesus when he said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father, but by me."

The whole idea of "religious goals" is a VERY scary concept. The Taliban and Al Qaeda also have "religious goals". Why can't you just be happy believing what you believe and keep it to yourself? Do you not understand that almost every war in the world today is caused by people with "religious goals"?

I think there have been a few sparks... and I think we Christians lift each other up in the faith everyday and we learn more from each other than maybe we do from non-believers except to know how non-believers think.... a bit more than before coming here... I think it's all good and I think our focus is in the right place, our heart is and that really is the goal of everyday.... to have the right motive, the right "heart" and everything else that happens, sparks and flickers are icing on the cake of the day so to speak!

To some degree, I blame 'Christians' for not 'cleaning up' Christianity by the time I was growing up in USA; instead, I see the 'reformation movement' as growing away from Christ, not growing closer to him. That said; I have a lot of work ahead of me in bring it closer to Christ. So,I also understand more how many 'Christians' especailly in present USA may be driving away others; unfortuneately.

It has nothing to do with reaching a goal.

It's about answering questions the best I can to let someone know the Truth.

It's up to the person if they believe or not.

NOBODY should be an excuse for turning away from God.

I am certainly increasing my capacity for compassion and patience - LOL! Like the others, I didn't come here to convert anyone, but to answer whatever questions I can in a respectful way. I, too, am making friendly contacts.
