Should the divide be greater, lesser, or is it at a good level right now?

If this is a religion room, why are there so many people (in my view, atheists) in here bashing Christians....If I want to ask/read a question I don't want to have to read all the ugly remarks....

Everything we see is a result of Christianity. Almost the whole world as we know it has been forged by the hand of Christians. Even Asia has been forced to assymilate. Becoming "Americanized" is almost synonymous with becoming "Christianized".

How can Christians feel that atheists are so different when we've all have Christian morals forced on us since birth? From a moral standpoint, Western Atheists are basically Christians who don't believe in God.

So why, Christians, do you see a difference between us?

This group has been around for almost 200 years. You would think in that space of time the men of that religion would have healed and eradicated most diseases from off the earth. Why haven't they? Jesus would have.

I overheard a woman saying that she blamed god because her mother died from cancer. That is the most obscene thing i have ever heard! How come when everything is going bad people blame god, but then when everything is going great they are ready to praise his name! Backwards isn't it?

Why kill in His name, when this is the most un-Jesus thing we could do?
Also, why so many denominations? So many "Christians" say this is the way Jesus wanted, when really He prayed for unity so that the world would know that God sent Him (John 17).
Have Christians lost sight of what Jesus wanted in His followers? Christians, do you think maybe you should respect His wishes and try to get along better?

It comes up time and again when christians ask atheists why we are atheists. They say things like "why do you reject the lord?" in a way that suggests we we acknowledge there being a lord, but chose not to accept him.

Why don't they understand that, from where we stand, we are not actually rejecting him, because he's not there to reject? You can't reject something if it doesn't exist.

They seem to be implying that it's like someone turning their back on a parent.

It's not, and I'd like to know why they can't get their heads around that point.

Are you only here to wait for God to 'reclaim' you? Is the world merely a testing ground?

Personally I find this an extraordinary attitude. Here we are, surrounded by an amazing world (however it came about) and I see people saying that they feel like sojourners and aliens in a foreign land.

If you were invited to a fabulous banquet would you refuse the food because you expected something better to turn up later? That sounds plain ungrateful!

But perhaps I've misunderstood? Is the world more than just a ‘waiting room’?

Views please. And non-Christians are welcome to answer, but please keep it polite, thanks!

It's really upbeat and part of the lyrics in the chorus are like
"We are a generation of change"

I love this song but for the life of me am completely blanking on the rest of the song or the name of it.
Sorry it's not a lot of info.

...that Christianity is an interloper of a religion founded in the Middle East and imported from it? And that the real "native" religions of America and Europe are Native American and Pagan? I'm really mystified by this, whenever I hear or read people talking about how Islam's going to take over or atheism is against these cultures or America's a Christian society or whatever.

Discuss. :-)
