Do you pray to God?

Do you pray to God only when you are in need like my sister, or do you pray regularly whether you are in need or not?...

explain why..

I pray every day. I always thank him for what I have & I ask that he helps the people that need him the most. It annoys the hell out of me when people pray for a new car or material things when people are actually in pain or dieing

Yes, I pray all the time with all kinds of prayer and supplications
Prayer is essential in the Christian's life. Without it your witness will be far less effective and you will be far more vulnerable to the enemy. When you witness, you need the blessing and support of the Lord. You need to be in fellowship with Him. Prayer makes this all possible.
When you witness you plant the seeds of the Gospel, but it is God who causes the growth (1 Cor. 3:6-7). In prayer you ask God to give that growth. In prayer you ask God to convict the unrepentant of their sin and by that awaken in them the need for salvation. In prayer you, "...let your requests be made known to God" (Phil. 4:6). Think back to your own conversion. Were there people praying and requesting your salvation?
Jesus prayed frequently (Matt. 14:23; 26:36; Mark 6:46; Luke 5:16; John 17). Paul prayed (Rom. 1:9; Eph. 1:16). Stephen prayed (Acts 7:55-60). You must pray. God wants you to pray to Him and have fellowship with Him (John 1:1-4). Why? One reason is that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against powers and the spiritual forces of darkness (Eph. 6:12). That is where the real battle is, in the spiritual realm. You need prayer. Prayer is one of God's ordained means for you to do spiritual warfare and sharing the Gospel is definitely spiritual warfare.
Another reason to pray is that you can actually influence God with your prayers. If you are doubtful then look at 2 Kings 20:1-7. King Hezekiah was told by the prophet Amoz that he should set his house in order because he was surely going to die (v. 1). Hezekiah prayed earnestly (v. 2,3). The Lord heard his prayers and said, "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD. And I will add fifteen years to your life" (v. 5).
Hezekiah's prayer made a difference. That is why you, as a Christian, can be an effective witness, because you have influence with God and because you can ask God to save. Prayer is a vital part of witnessing.

I talk to God all the time. It was just something I picked up when I was a small child and have continued. I don't "pray". I just talk and God talks back and we both seem to find it very comfortable. We also don't understand what the whole fuss is all about. Blessings.

Yup. I pray regularly and even ask for the grace to remember to pray when I don't need something and to be thankful.

I know that God is not just some sugar daddy who gives to me when I beg, but rather He is constantly with me, blessing me in different ways. Prayer, for me, is a way to remember that as well as a time for me to look at how I correspond to that free gift of His love and to aspire to do better. It is also a time to listen to what the Spirit might be telling me, where I need to go in my life and how I need to change my attitudes. Prayer is also a time for me to give thanks to God for the gift of His Son, Jesus.

I pray on a regular basis, whether I'm in need or not. Being close to God gives me peace and gives me the ability to make difficult decisions.

What need is there to pray when God already knows ones needs? Prayer is designed to make a person feel good and that something outside if them has control over them.

I talk to God. That might be called praying. I talk to Him about whatever comes to mind. The reason why I do is because I trust Him to hear me, not that He is agreeing with what I say.

I almost never pray to God to ask Him for anything. I just thank Him for life-the good and the bad. And I do it every morning befoere I get out of bed.
