Meka,
Yes it certainly is backwards. Many people are no longer studying and understanding GOD's WORD as they used to study and know it. satan is the cause of such problems in this present world. GOD is the one who gives us everything that we need and satan causes alol of our ills. GOD gives and satan takes away. Have a great day and a wonderful week young lady!
Thanks,
Eds

Yes, that is very backwards. This woman may be blaming God because many people are taught that when their loved ones die, God "called them home." It is amazing that people feel a loving God would "call them home" by ending their life with an agonizing pathogen.
Or it may be that people blame God because they believe He is ruling earth. The scriptures make it quite plain that, at this time, he is not. Time and again the scriptures reveal that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one (1 John 5:19); that Satan is the ruler of the authority of the air (Ephesians 2:2); that Satan is misleading the entire inhabited earth (Revelation 12:9).
As to blaming God when things go bad but praising him when everything is going great, it is noteworthy that this issue is one of the reasons the world is full of wickedness. Even Satan made this charge in the book of Job: Job worshiped God only because God gave him everything he wanted. But the minute God stopped, Job would cease his worship. Moreover, the charge was that God actually bribed Job for his worship. For the issue to be settled, time has to pass to allow people to show where they stand - just as Job did.
So those who blame God for badness and praise his name when their lives are going good are merely supporting the charge made by Satan. Even though they may do it unknowingly, it is a sad state of affairs.

It's not backwards at all. If you believe God is all powerful, of course you should blame him for the bad equally to praising the good things. Credit where credit is due. A truly omnipotent god should be able to prevent horrble things. What kind of moron would ignore the bad, and give credit only for the good? THAT would be backwards.

If you're going to get credit, you're going to get blame, too. That's just human nature. And God's supposed to be all-knowing and the Author of Us All, so of course people who've been raised to believe that will lash out when they're angry. That woman has a right to be angry and feel ripped off. My mother did after my father died of a heart attack--she'd seen healing miracles at her church. That woman needs a hug, a tissue, and a sympathetic ear, not condemnation and guilt-mongering. If there is a Jehovah-God, I'm sure he's more forgiving than you give him credit for.

People praise God when things go right,No real Christians blame God when things go wrong... They just say it's "god's will". The people who blame God are the Atheists on the Inside. They just need to realize it!

Don't think they do, actually.... most thank god for sparing a relative some awful fate, or pray that god will intercept... which is curious. If god were all loving and all powerful, that would have never happened in the first place. and to say god is just testing someone is nuts. Face it..... we are products of evolution, and what happens to us is, as one person said once, a product of "old age, and bad luck", My prof in ethics has on his door to his office,,,,"god, protect us from those who believe in you...."

How can you then in turn praise god when things go great? Isn't that holding god to a double standard? Giving him credit where credit isn't due?

Its because God is not going to reply you even if you blame or praise him. Try blaming a fellow human and see what happens !

Your very right. We all could use the lessons learned from Job, to not blame God when something bad happens.
I have had a couple of funerals lately, and everyone said that God took them.... NOT. Sin took them, and we die from that. Life comes from Jesus and more abundantly..
I am glad though that God has big shoulders, and will forgive us for blaming him for stuff!

Another reason I'm not a Christian.
By Christian 'logic', God is only worth something, as you say, when things are going well.
Smacks of a lack of personal responsibility, if the God you've invented becomes the bad guy every time things don't go your way...
