"Serious Question" and "About Heaven" - those two contradict themselves.

Heaven is whatever you want it to be. So if you want to eat BBQ, you can imagine a heaven in which BBQ magically appears at will. You don't need to kill anything. It just appers, like magic.

And you don't get fat. So you can eat as much as you want.

But seriously, Heaven is a contradictory land.

It's almost like the old question: "If God can do anything, can he create a rock that is too heavy for him to lift? Why can't he lift it if he can do anything?"

Boy, oh, boy...those Bible writers sure messed things up for a thousand generations.

The Tree of Life is described in the Bible. The fruit thereof we are supposed to eat. I suppose there are things that we are supposed to eat, but heaven is not the place where we will eventually settle. I would recommend reading the final chapters of Revelation in order to understand New Jeruslaem, the place where man and God will reside. Not heaven. Somehow there will be a New heaven and a New Earth. And New Jerusalem will be about 1400x 1400 x 1400 miles in dimension. Will it be like a cube? or will it be like a pryamid? I think that it will be like a pyramid.

I hope there is something near or better than a fresh ribeye steak!

Most of what the Bible tells us about heaven is loaded with images and metaphors - there are very few verses that speak clearly about what heaven will be like. In the book of Isaiah (a book of prophecy, with lots of poetic language) chapter 11 verses 6 to 8, it says that the wolf will live with the lamb, the lion will eat straw like the ox and a child will play near a viper's nest. The passage doesn't specify it's referring to, but from the context we gather it's speaking about heaven. It doesn't mean that heaven will literally look like that, but we can conclude that it's going to be a peaceful place, unlike this world! Jesus said to his disciples that he was going to prepare rooms for them in his Father's house (John 14:2) in heaven. Revelation talks about a new Jerusalem as a splendid city. Does that mean heaven will have cities? Who knows? The bible doesn't give precise details. All we can be sure of is that there will be perfect happiness, joy and peace in heaven - whatever the outside form that happiness might take! That's because those who are in heaven will be near God, who is perfect goodness. And it's only those who want to be near God who go there. In the meantime, I don't think there is any harm in picturing heaven however you like.

I believe we will eat, but not meat. That would involve killing animals and the shedding of blood. If this is a serious question Riegan, are you willing to give up the BBQ steak for the ability to dwell in the very presence of God?

Whatever pleasure you have here in earth, is inferior and sinful. Eating meat is pleasurable to the tongue, but is sinful killing animals for pleasure of the tongue. Sex is also inferior pleasure. In so called heaven there are higher pleasures in association with God. Eating is not necessary there but everything that exist here, exist in the spiritual world. This world is like a shadow of the spiritual world or heaven, but here is manifested in a perverted reflexion.

The Bible teaches that a small number of anointed Christians are selected from among mankind to be co-rulers with Jesus and his Father in the heavenly government (Kingdom)

"and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." (Revelation 1:6)

"I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years." ( Revelation 20:4 )

"Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." ( Revelation 20:6)

So those who go to heaven rule as kings, priests and judges. They have plenty of work to do, both now and in the future.

Heaven is a spiritual place, home of God (A spirit) and the angels. Spirits have no need for food like we eat. Nor do they need homes as such to rest in.
Neither do they reproduce.

Riegan,
We will be only of a spirituaql nature. There will not be any bodily needs there. The boby will be left on earth. GOD will provide evry need that we have there. HE is the LIGHT and darkness will not be there at all. HEAVEN contains everything that we will ever want! Have a great week.

PS... I lost my little banner.

Thanks,
Eds, A simple Christian

Haha, I guess we will be denied a good bbq steak (unfortunatly T.T)There's no need to eat. Human actions are gone once yor dead. Your soul goes to heaven; not your body. So there is no need to eat or even breathe.

WE will be at PERFECT peace. No more tears, it will just be happiness. And you are correct there is no more eating meat in heaven!
We cannot comprehend the peace and happiness we will feel here on earth, we can read about it in the Bible, but our minds can't fully comprehend it...isn't that awesome!!!
