If she were why did she need a savior? Why does the RCC follow the traditions of men and not the bible?

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION -- Mary was preserved from all stain of original sin from the first instant of her conception. ("Catechism" 490-492).

In Luke 1:46-47, Mary said: "My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour". Mary knew that she needed a savior.

The RCC says she was, why do they follow traditions of man and not the bible?
ALL-HOLY -- Mary, "the All-Holy," lived a perfectly sinless life. ("Catechism" 411, 493)

Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God". Revelation 15:4 says, "Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou only art holy". Romans 3:10 says, "There is none righteous, no, not one".

be curious and explore each other’s cultures and lifestyles? I was once a very active R/S contributor but I decided one day to exit because of the overwhelming amount of racism, bigotry and ignorance going on at the time. Coming back, I see nothing has changed in here.

How important is it to teach your children about God?

Is it more important to teach your child about God than to teach them about the birds and bees and wearing a helmet?

Is it more important than teaching them to look both ways.

I've been so much happyer to have converted from Athiesm

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the satisfaction for our sins.

Jesus commanded us to "Keep doing this in rememberance" of him (Luke 22:19). Will you celebrate this most solomn event this evening in your city? Jehovah's Witnesses invite you to attend at your local Kingdom Hall if you do not already have other plans to celebrate someplace else. May all your efforts to be there be blessed by God himself.

I have traveled and/or lived in Christian, Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist countries. The thing that strikes me most is how religion tries (often successfully) to make people with their subsistence existence by promising them something better in the afterlife. Of course, this has the effect of propping and corrupt governments and subsistence economies.

Since the Greek gods had earthly sons but the Old Testament God did not, isn't the New Testament really just the final nail in the coffin of the promises and bragging of the Old Testament Israelites?

The Kingdom of Israel had been wiped out over 700 years before and replaced by Arab citizens who adopted the Hebrew religion (Samaritans).

Judea was conquered by Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome, or at least passed around among them. Hellenization had split the Jewish people into those who held to the Old Testament ways and promises and those who preferred Greek culture and language, even under the Romans.

And then the story of Jesus appears, a full blown Greek styled Mystery religion figure. Could he be less Jewish? I don't think it's possible.

How do Christians cling to the idea that Jesus is some sort of fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, when in reality he is the triumph of Greek and Roman culture over the religion of Abraham?

Is there historical proof other than the Bible?
Thanks.

Those who believe the bible will only believe Jesus was about 33 years old.
This is a really good example of how politics formed the bible and how easy it is for man to be misguided, even though the bible is good for instruction in righteousness, Jesus was Not 33 when he died!
because he was born between 4 and 7 B.C. if he was born in 7bc that wouldve made him 40 when he died. So how old was he again?

Church report---Use of masculine imagery validates 'violent patterns of behavior'
Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams is backing a Church of England report that claims viewing God in masculine terms can validate "overbearing and ultimately violent patterns of behavior" in intimate relationships and "contributes to domestic abuse," the London Daily Mail reports.

Did any churches/ministers observe it during services?

Did any of you Christians decide to observe it in church? :-)

I know there are some funny Christians out there (Chris Sligh from American Idol!). This comic strip, yesterday's "Frazz", made me think of it.

The enemy within not to mention in the society. Its embedded in the grain of the religion. Have you noticed how super religious people become so high on life and act inadvertently gay? they become so soft spoken and humble that it literally turns them into a homo.

When I think of Chief Prophet it kind of reminds me of Grand Wizard.

But that's beside the point. Please excuse me and answer my question if you don't mind.

Thank you.

Many of us who are not in touch with everyday Muslims are told how Islam is a "religion of peace." Since the same media brings us images and rhetoric of radical Muslims advocating terrorism and participating in horrific violence, many are given pause by the conlficting messages.

Certainly a religion of peace does not advocate violence. The is true about Christianity, right? Jesus was martyred rather
than using force or violence. He is hailed by his followers as
the "Prince of Peace." So, is Christianity a religion of peace?

If so, should we be given pause by Christians who endorse or engage in acts of violence?

The Apostles had beards.
Jesus had a beard.
If God intelligently designed men's faces to grow hair, then why do men take such lengths to remove it?
Isn't that directly defying The Almighty?

A lot of people seem to get so narrow minded and intolerant even voilent when having differences with others in spiritual discussions. It is very dismaying because those behaviours are so contridictory to the teachings of the worlds faiths.
