My children are straight A students. Both were tested as Gifted and Talented, one in K and one in 2nd grade and they both could read by the time they were 4. They both chose to be baptized when they were old enough to decide. My point is that you do not have to be stupid to be a believer. You can still be an educated person that enjoys life. God believes in seeking knowledge and truth so why shouldn't we?
May God Bless you.

This is perhaps one of the best questions ever posed on Y?A. Let's see what it brings for answers.
My call on this is that it will be as important to both god-believers and non-believers equally. For some it will be very important to teach their children that God is real and for others it will be equally important to teach their children that the idea of god is nonsense. I would be, (and I am,) one of the later case.
My instructions to my children has been that god and religion are baseless and untrue and that knowing about religious belief is far less important than the things you've pointed out in your question, learning to cross streets safely, reading and the like. They all attended Catholic schools and received a Catholic education. I've been very happy with the results so far. I have raised four rational thinking individuals... of them, two are devoted Atheists, one is a closeted agnostic and only one stubbornly follows the teachings of Catholicism. (She was very influenced by her mom.) ....I'm still workin' on it..!

I was taught religion at a very young age.
Now that I have kids I am taking a different approach to my parents.
I teach my kids about the different beliefs that exist surrounding religion. For instance: One of my kids recently asked if God is real. My answer was that some people believe that he does, and some don't. I told him that it was up to each individual to determine whether God exists for themselves, and that it is important to try and find real proof for your beliefs. I also told him that if a belief causes you to hurt another, or try and reduce their rights or freedom, then you have to take a close look at your belief and determine whether it is just an emotion or a reality.

Hey there,
There are numerous documented benefits and advantages of teaching children to read early on, and teaching them to reading using phonics and phonemic awareness instructions. It is clear that early language and reading ability development passes great benefits to the child as they progress through school at all grades, and that early language and reading problems can lead to learning problems later on in school.
For a simple, step-by-step program that can help your child learn to read visit this web site: http://readingprogram.toptips.org
Hope it helps.

It is important to protect your children from being taught about God.
Children are very impressionable.
In Australia you have to sign a note exempting your children from scripture studies (half hour per week) in public schools.
I don't believe it has any place in public education in the first place.
My ten year has the scripture teacher grab any opportunity to keep her in the classroom rather than the library where she is supposed to go during scripture. Last week she had her cutting out religious pictures.
The irony is, the more this woman forcing it on her, the more she's rejecting it.
She sees the whole religion thing as being really strange.

It's probable to invest plenty of time and money looking for approaches to teach your kids how to read and improve their examining skills. Is difficult to show a tiny kid how to learn, and even alluring them to see is a challenge in itself. However it does not have to be that way as you got the help of the program https://tr.im/7El5p , Children Learning Reading program.
With Children Learning Reading you can show your son or daughter how to split up seems and break words in to phonemes, an essential thing when your kid is merely learning to spell.
The studying process from Children Learning Reading program makes it simple for kids to read rapidly and effectively, from easy words to sentences until they understand to read stories.

Yes, it is more important then any of those things. Those things can kill the body but not knowing Jesus Christ as their personal savior can condemn their soul to Hell for eternity. My church has it's own private school for our kids and they teach reading by having the children read the Bible. There are adults who have trouble reading and comprehending the KJV Bible but in our church there are 7 year olds who can read it. Can your 7 year old child read and understand Shakespeare? Our's can....

Qur'an tells us learning to read is very important. Prisoners of war were freed for teaching 10 Muslims how to read. If one can't read, they won't be able to read Qur'an. Sir, about your question, both are indeed important and can be learned together!

I taught my child that jesus is the only god, the one true god and that all other knowledge is useless when compared to this. Then I sent him to jesus camp for further incotrination. Praise the lord we will have an army of christians that will march on washington and teach those sinners what it is to be a good christian.
