2 Peter 1:20-21 say's, " 20Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's (MAN) own interpretation. 21For prophecy never had its origin in the will of MAN, but men spoke from GOD as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Now ask yourself, how isn't the Bible not God's word?

There have been uncountable people who have gone into comas for long periods of time and then woken up, why should this be any different back then? People in hospitals wake up from coma's every day, but now, since we know what they are, we no longer call it a "miracle"

Some Christians believe that all death is caused by "original sin".

I've heard that Hell is not a physical place, but just a place where God is not present. If this is so, how did God/Jesus' soul go to Hell for 3 days about 2,000 years ago? Did Hell stop being Hell?

I know that many who are labeled as fundamentalists commonly have an attitude of hatred and condemnation toward others (often holding to a literal interpretation of Scripture but not representing the true Spirit of Christ). But what do you call someone who, like Jesus Himself, believes every word of God, walks in love, and boldly speaks the truth? Are they also considered fundamentalists?

How do they know that he didn't just give them CPR? Or something similar that jump-started their heart? Doesn't that make more sense than "magic"?

It found some teachers are reluctant to cover the atrocity for fear of upsetting students whose beliefs include Holocaust denial.....
Your thoughts please.

(Disclosure, I'm a Christian) Thanks for any responses. I would like to ask if you were ever involved in any type of faith, religion etc., before making the decision to become an atheist. The other question I have is what led you to that decision, was it a purley intellectual choice based on historical research, science, Christians & attitudes, other?
I would also be interested in hearing about any pressures you may have experienced from family, friends, co-workers etc about your decision to become an atheist. Do you ever feel the need to explain your personal choice to others when confronted by someone who has a strong view on religious matters?

Thanks, I am just curious. Ever since I was 3 years old I can't stop asking "WHY" about everything...I can't stop the need to want to know. Thanks for sharing your heart & feeling with me, and helping people understand people!!

Christians say that god made adam and put him on earth. Would god not have a method to his madness for lack of a better word?Like evolution? Why can't evolution be a mechanism of god? And also why can't they accept that we have a (common ancestor) with chimpanzee's and baboons. Also they deny the fact that our genes are 98-99 percent the same as these primates. We have seen them but yet they don't accept it. Why?

P.s even though evolution is called a theory by many it's a fact that used to be a theory.

Was everthing said at the cross? what I mean is the thief knew who jesus was "A king" and he also knew he had a "kingdom" and he new it wasent of this "world" and he also knew by faith he could be saved. The reason why jesus was in the middle of the two thiefs, was that he represented the seperation between belivers and non-belivers correct?

We'll use Christianity because it is the most popular religion on these boards by far.
Christians assume that their god is real. They assume that the Bible is correct. Assumations are okay because they are what theories are built off of. But until you have proof, an assumation can only lead to a theory, not a fact.
There are no concrete facts behind the bible.
If I told you that if you gave me every penny you made and lived in a hovel all your life that you would be a millionaire quicker than if you managed your own finances, would you assume I was telling you the truth? Of course not.

Had I started when you were very, very young? Probably.

Don't you see what your fellow man has done to you? You are being controlled, and the only reason I'm allowed to tell you this is because no one is going to believe me because the brainwashing is still so absoloute.

I read parts of the bible and it's alot of war and people getting killed. Even the hero's in the bible are killers. David and joshua even moses throws down! Its alot of fighting and war with people getting their heads chooped and even children getting killed. I don't think it's a book of love. Do you agree?Do you think the bible is viloent and should not be used as a guide for you life? And if you do think its a good guide why?

I mean no disrespect to anyone...I have many Christian friends...I am not targeting any group of beliefs as I have a lot to say about every faith, but I just want to know why a lot of Christians are intolerant of other peoples faiths, in the sense that they feel they are "going to hell" if they do not "accept" Jesus as their "lord and savior"?

I have a lot of respect for Jesus as well as Krishna, Mohamed, Buddha,etc.etc.etc. because I basically feel that they all preached the same message, and I feel that organized religion has definitely divided us when in reality we are all striving for the same end...whether if be heaven or nirvana or eternal realization....whatever you wanna call it or label it or describe it...am I far off here because I don't know a lot of people who look at it the way I do, am I just really stupid???

Holy Spirit came 50 days later at Pentecost. Is the Feast of Tabernacles the probable time when the Lord shall return in Power and Great Glory?

**NOTE: It appears that all the Old Testament Feast Days are significant in the revelation of God to man. In Ecclesiastes 8:5 we read: "Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment." The term "wise" refers to someone who has been born of God (born-again) and has had all their sins blotted out.

***The Feast of Tabernacles was an eight day feast.
