I think so oftentimes , we tend to blame a lot of things on God .
But the wonderful thing about God is that He gives us free will and free choice . We make our choices . But what comes with choice is a great responsibility , good things or bad things , because there's always consequences . So if we do something irresponsible like maybe have sex frequently , and not just have sex frequently , but unprotected sex , then there are consequences to that . I think we reap what we sow , and there are consequences to actions .

The Earth has warmed and cooled many times without man's interference. Let's say this is a natural occurance and we have no control over it, I'm sure Al Gore Jr. will find some way to blame God instead of us.

And if we are truly causing global warming, what the heck can we do about it? Short of a complete destruction of human society........no cars, no airplanes, no electricity, etc.......there's not a whole heck of a lot hybrid cars, changing light bulbs to the complact florescents (which are filled with mercury), planting trees, etc will do to stop the warming.

Well now, let's try this shall we......using the question as a correct corollary, could we say that God is punishing the US through major weather disasters because they hate gays, given that north of their border is a country with few if any natural disasters yet has gay marriage. If you answer no to my supposition, then clearly Global Warming would man made, not divine.

If our science and legal departments had not touted this global warming spoof, you would have nothing to worry about.
What is going on in our weather patterns, has been going on since before we even kept statistics.
We were not using the advanced machines, or any other older pollution causing things back in the 1800's, and they had worse and weirder weather than we have today.
Please do not fall into the mass panic, that never fixes anything, but the mt pockets of those rich buggers that get richer by YOU buying stuff to keep the weather from going critical.

If it is, it's not a very precise or accurate method, since it tends to punish those who aren't living in excess (i.e. Third world nations) more than those who are actually causing the problem (i.e. North Americans).

If god really wanted to punish the greedy and excessive, why not just *poof* kill everyone driving an SUV?

That would make more sense.

No, it isn't Gods way of punishing us for our excesses. It's purely the consequences of our excesses. All actions and behaviors have consequences--some good and some bad. This one happens to be bad.

Just the same, AIDS isn't Gods punishment for homosexuals, it's merely a consequence of promiscuous and immoral behavior.

Examples of good consequences from good actions/behavior--eating healthy foods makes a person's body healthy, studying and applying yourself in school makes you an excellent student, being an industrius worker boosts your career.

That's good way to explain it if you know nothing about science. In the real world however, global warming is being caused chiefly by the increase in greenhouse gases we've experienced, which in turn is mainly caused by the burning of fossil fuels.

No, God is punishing us by not helping the religions to agree on God. Just look at the never ending religion/sectarian violence in the World. We have begun efforts to stop Global Warming. Nothing is being done to stop religion/sectarian violence. The religions don't even want us to talk about it.

Global warming is a joke. When it was in the 70's everybody cried global warming. When it was in the 20's everybody stopped talking about global warming. Now that it's back in the 70's people have started talking about global warming. I can't wait until July and August when everybody will be crying global warming. Hey, if Al Gore says it's global warming shouldn't you get a clue.

No it's our way of punishing ourselves. God doesn't intervene either way, He simply just lets us live our lives how we want. And if we want to destroy the world, he'll let us do that to. So, don't get mad at God for global warming as your driving down the highway :-)
