LOL!! I don't think it would have helped. Given human nature what it is, that would have been as much temptation as the serpent was.

A worthy question! I have five children and when I wish them to learn not to touch something, I leave it in reach and discipline them everytime they touch it. I am then free to put it wherever I wish, and they will not go for it. Had God somehow restricted the tree physically, He would have hindered man in His ability to decide for Himself, thus robbing him of the ability to love. There can be no love in the absence of free will, hence the tree was an appropriate test of it.

Lastly, had God roped off the tree, it would have been tantamount to saying to the man and woman, "Though you have done no wrong, I can not trust you." Not a very good thing to do, methinks.

I beleive that Adam and Eve had to partake of the fruit. Heavenly Father knew that this was going ot happen, it was part of the plan. Therefiore if he had put of ropes, Adam and Eve could not have progressed or mulitiplied the Earth.

Yeeeahh, those things never keep me out. I've been kicked out of a few museums because I like to touch things. (I know it's bad but . . . I like appreciating the tactile sensations of art too)

Velvet hadn't been invented yet.
Besides, wasn't it smack dab in the middle of the garden ....kinda hard to miss.

Obviously, according to the bible, knowledge is a punishable offense. That would make that tree a definite no-no.

Because we have to have the ability to choose. Besides, if Adam and Eve never ate the apple, we wouldn't be here. They didn't have kids/couldn't have kids, until they ate the apple. I for one am greatful they ate it.
