Is there something in your life that you regret? That you cry or even laugh about?

We think of tyrants, like Saddam (Allah rest his soul) as cruel because he tortured people, like blending them alive in shredding machine.

But will God do such torture throughout eternity—how can a loving Christian believe in that? And are the principles of His government so flimsy that he keeps the saints loyal by torturing sinners forever?

Heiress accuses W. Palm church of exploiting her mental illness
WEST PALM BEACH — Had Lucinda Bennett not gotten swept away in a wave of religious fervor, she could be living in an oceanfront condo in Palm Beach, her only worry how to spend her $1.8 million inheritance.
Instead, having given away the condo and the bulk of her great-grandmother's fortune to the venerable First Baptist Church West Palm Beach, the 37-year-old is living in a small house in rural northeast Florida and worrying about putting food in her mouth and gas in her car. In a lawsuit expected to go to trial in the next month, there is no dispute that over 11 months in 2000 Bennett gave the bulk of her inheritance to the wealthy church and a former pastor who regularly told the faithful of the blessings they would receive if they embraced biblical teachings to tithe.

If God is one and Jesus is god, then whose son is he? As for God the father, whose father is he? Is he his own father and his own son?

The bible is supposedly God's true word. And since God is perfect, so should His word. But why isn't it like that?
(P.S: I'm a Deist, I believe a Deity exists, just not the biblical one)

Tolerance to other beliefs:
** Deuteronomy 12:2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:

12:3 And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

**Violence & Cruelty:
2:33 And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.
2:34 And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the LITTLE ONES, of every city, we left NONE TO REMAIN
(Why destroy everyone including CHILDREN?

I just don´t need to have An Iman or priest to tell me what I am reading, what Is wrong or right, cause I already know.
I just think that God´s literacy skills have to be much, much better than the Koran which by the way have a lot of serious mistakes and I do believe that if God will have to choose a Prophet he or she already had a lot of very good ones, including women whoseI consider with a life much more clean, devoted, dedicated, bright and with much more intelligent answers than Mohamed, I simply believe God has no sex or lenguage and of course no religion and is not a killing, full of outrage God, I do agree with the concept of God and society of Jesus.
I do suport your right to dress and live and be happy as you want along you don´t hurt anybody else, but I can´t suport the unfortunated, unproportionated, out of place, unaceptable positions of recents events since 9/11, cartoons and Pope, and I can´t suport anymore your attitudes having no problem with your religion.

Please only answer if you are atheists. Is martyrdom possible for you personally? For example, if someone said "bow down to God or we will kill you" would you give up your life for your disbelief? Or would your choice not matter since you are not accountable to God....or since you do not believe in an afterlife? Thanks. Just curious.

Growing up, we were not permitted to celebrate Easter in the traditional fashion - i.e., Easter eggs, candy & bunny rabbits. We always called it Resurrection Sunday and were taught that "Easter" was a pagan version of a very holy day.

I am curious if there are others out there who were raised like I was - or now believe that way.

I am also curious what your opinion is on the matter. Is it a Pagan holiday or a religious celebration?

I really do wonder. If you've read history at all, you'll know that these things have always happened and whats causing natural disasters is global warming. Which has also always happened and scientists have been saying that for years.

Its like you guys LOOK for reasons to celebrate the end of the world.

This has happened before, and it will happen again. Its a natural cycle.

People say his color dosen't matter when history shows he was a Black man. If the truth was 'forced', people would not degraded blacks the way they currently do. People are going to be shocked when judgement takes place because a black man is going to rule the nations of this earth and all that don't fall in line will no longer exist upon the earth.

So I was wondering, the UK and US are certainly Christian (as in, they would look down on leaders who were not), the Middle East are Muslim, I presume other eastern countries are Buddhist.

Are there any countries whos leaders are 'always' Athiest? I know a lot of countries have a wide range of religions, and there may occassionaly be the odd Athiest, but, for example, I would be amazed if a non-Christian ever ran for President of the US or Prime Minister of the UK, and if a Christian ever ran the Middle East countries (invasions aside).

I hope I made that clear...

I imagine dying and then suddenly being in the presence of GOD. And i hear his voice asking me, "what was in your heart?" and i desperately answer, i didnt know what to think, i wanted to believe, but at the same time i was scared to invest EVERY part of me into something that i didnt know for sure. But i think he would know that i was always sincere when i talked to him. And i've been saved, even though i still sometimes have doubts. i would hope he forgives me for having them. any thoughts?

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a east coast resident, which was posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them:

In order for schools to be able to see which child is regularly attending Church before being accepted for some schools,, Churches are using “loyalty swipe cards” just like supermarkets, and school id cards that are used to register the child being in school and in what class they are attending at any given time during school hours.

Can this be the new measure of control by the PC Nanny State we are living in today… OR should it be seen as “encouragement” to attend Church regularly… OR given the date of the programme - ie April 1st….?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/programmes/sunday/index.shtml (Yet to be updated in order to incorporate Sunday April 01 programme…

Does a person who voluntarily leaves the fellowship of a church HAVE to be excommunicated, to be considered a non-member?

Imagine a man, raised a Roman Catholic. Let's call him "Fred".

Fred was raised by good Catholic parents, and attended Mass as a child, was trained in a good Catholic school, was involved in his local youth group, etc. After he leaves home for college, he continues in his Catholic tradition...for a while.

As an adult, Fred becomes disenchanted with the faith of his parents, and starts investigating other theorys and religions. He quits going to mass, but can still "talk" like a Catholic. He eventually repudiates his former faith, and starts actively harrassing Catholics, committing acts of vandalism and violence against them, burning Catholic Bibles, etc.

Does Fred HAVE to be excommunicated by the Church to be considered "not a Catholic" anymore?

Why or why not?
