HI
good question. Jehovah has always been he has no beginning and no end he is complete in himself the bible says. Jehovah is the father an individual, he created Jesus his son, another individual, the holy spirit is the power that God gives to us to do more than what is normal, it is a gift of power when we need it. Great question.

The Trinity is very complected, the human mind can't fathom the fact that the spirit is infinite and can be many things at once, also it is imposable to but into finite words the infinite nature of the creator of the universe. However, I will try to clear things up to the best of my understanding, (which isn't much I must admit,) God is one, God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each part is a face of God, Jesus is God in flesh, the Father made Jesus' body, though Jesus existed already in the spirit, because He is God and God is spirit,

The doctrine of the Trinity- that in the nature of the one true God, there are three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each fully God, coequal and coeternal. The doctrine of the incarnation- that the Son of God, the Word, became man, uniting in the single person of the Son two distinct and complete natures, deity and humanity. The sinless life of Christ- that he lived as the perfect man to fulfill God's plan for all humanity. The sacrificial death of Christ- to atone for the sins of all men, and purchase the salvation of believers. The resurrection of Christ- that after his death, Christ rose bodily from the grave, showing his triumph over sin and death, as the firstfruit, and hence the promise of resurrection to all who have faith in him. Salvation by grace through faith- that justification before God, and hence salvation from punishment and life with God,are available only as a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is sent to us as a helper in our life as a Christian.
It is very complicated if you try to rationalize it by the world standards, but really it all boils down to faith. God is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I questioned the Trinity early in my life and read a lot about it and this book explained it in a Biblical and Historical method. Try reading it. It will answer a lot of questions and you'll even get a little history lesson.

It is not polytheism. It is difficult to understand. I will explain it as I once read it in a children's book. The skin, the flesh and the core of an apple are three distinct parts. But they're all apple. It's the same concept. God is the father. Jesus is His son. However they are both God.

God is the Father, and Jesus is his Son. The Holy Spirit is the comforter. There is three who make up the trinity. They are one as in they have the same goal.

Not three gods, but one God in three persons is the Christian belief. "Persons" is not meant "individuals" but personal self distinctions within the divine reality.
Scriptures show God the Father primarily as Creator, God the Son primarily as Redeemer, and God the Holy Spirit primarily as Sanctifier.

there is a song like that:
I'm My Own Grandpa
Lyrics: Dwight Latham, Moe Jaffe
Music: Dwight Latham, Moe Jaffe
Played by Jerry Garcia with David Grisman
Oh, many, many years ago
When I was twenty-three
I was married to a widow
Who was pretty as can be
This widow had a grown-up daughter
Who had hair of red
My father fell in love with her
And soon the two were wed
This made my dad my son-in-law
And changed my very life
For my daughter was my mother
'Cause she was my father's wife
To complicate the matter
Though it really brought me joy
I soon became the father
Of a bouncing baby boy
This little baby then became
A brother-in-law to Dad
And so became my uncle
Though it made me very sad
For if he was my uncle
Then that also made him brother
Of the widow's grown-up daughter
WHo of course is my step-mother
Chorus
I'm my own grandpa
I'm my own grandpa
It sounds funny I know
But it really is so
Oh, I'm my own grandpa
My father's wife then had a son
Who kept them on the run
And he became my grandchild
For he was my daughter's son
My wife is now my mother's mother
And it makes me blue
Because although she is my wife
She's my grandmother too
Now if my wife is my grandmother
Then I'm her grandchild
And every time I think of it
It nearly drives me wild
For now I have become
The strangest case you ever saw
As husband of my grandma
I am my own grandpa
[chorus]

The true "trinity" is sun, earth and moon. Without those three, life as we know it would not exist.

They are 3 Persons in one God. It is a mystery that we will not understand until we reach heaven.
