We think of tyrants, like Saddam (Allah rest his soul) as cruel because he tortured people, like blending them alive in shredding machine.

But will God do such torture throughout eternity—how can a loving Christian believe in that? And are the principles of His government so flimsy that he keeps the saints loyal by torturing sinners forever?

NO.

The lake of fire MEANS the second death. If they were tortured forever they would be alive forever albeit horrible. But their end is destruction in which there is no resurrection. Rev. 20:14, 21:8

There is a resurrection from hell/Sheol/Hades/memorial tombs the grave. John 5:28,29.

The only thing that will keep worshipers loyal is love.

It depends on believing in the God of the Old Testament, a jealous and rather vindictive God in the view of the writers. That has more to do with the outlook of the people in those days. We have a completely different mindset. A loving God will not doom even the worst of sinners to eternal hellfire. That is just my opinion and hope. Of course, no-one really knows. Those who believe all that they read in the Holy books are unthinking fools whether Christian of Islamic. Question everything!

First of all, God will not torture anybody. Second, it's not sinners that will suffer for eternity - every person without exception is a sinner. But those that have accepted Chist's sacrifice are redeemed and are not considered sinners anymore in God's eyes. So those who have not accepted the redemption will have to live for eternity separated from God and that will be torture because there is NOTHING good outside of God.

The doctrine of Hades originated in Greek mythology and was baptized into early Christian teachings. Satan invented this doctrine and by teaching such a tyrannical God, it has understandably turned many people into atheists.

Hell fire is actually hotter than a crematorium which turns you to ashes at 2,000 degrees. It is so hot that God tells Satan that he will be destroyed in the Hell-fire (The Greek word for hell actually means incinerator; Hebrew--means grave):

“I bring forth a fire from the midst of you [Satan], it will devour you, and I will bring you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold you. All they that know you among the people will be astonished at you: and you will be a terror, and NEVER WILL YOU BE ANY MORE” (Ezekiel 28:18,19).

Paul knew this truth when he wrote: “For the wages of sin is [eternal] death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

That is how God eliminates the sin problem—sin and sinners are cast into the lake of fire where they will be eliminated for eternity. Understanding this concept, you can see that sinners are punished by eternal death, NOT tortured throughout eternity.

The wrath of God is like great waters that are dammed for the present; they increase more and more, and rise higher and higher, till an outlet is given; and the longer the stream is stopped, the more rapid and mighty is its course, when once it is let loose. It is true, that judgment against your evil works has not been executed hitherto; the floods of God's vengeance have been withheld; but your guilt in the mean time is constantly increasing, and you are every day treasuring up more wrath; the waters are constantly rising, and waxing more and more mighty; and there is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, that holds the waters back, that are unwilling to be stopped, and press hard to go forward. If God should only withdraw his hand from the flood-gate, it would immediately fly open, and the fiery floods of the fierceness and wrath of God, would rush forth with inconceivable fury, and would come upon you with omnipotent power; and if your strength were ten thousand times greater than it is, yea, ten thousand times greater than the strength of the stoutest, sturdiest devil in hell, it would be nothing to withstand or endure it.

No He will not. That was something made up by man. God would take no pleasure in that. Hell is translated grave. That's what it means. God is a cunsuming fire, and yes He will blot out those souls that don't make it,but it will be painless.

No, sinners are not tortured if they repent and trust in Christ. Those that reject God, can not be with God, and the only other alternative is the lake of fire. If you accept Christ now, then you have nothing to fear.

It does beg the question of how a just, kind, and loving god could allow such a system, which he created, to persist.

No! What kind of loving God does that? I belive that at the end of time, God will judge us all. Those who were bad will die, but not tortured for eternity.
