First, define 'christian'. Is it the visible organization? Is it a chosen way of life? Is it about actually trying to LIVE the basic teachings of Jesus? The art about the human body is a matter of personal perspective. I think there is still very much the old New England puritanism with discomfort in viewing the human body as "art".

Who says they are? God created Adam and Eve nude - as the most beautiful of all creation. When you read the scriptures, the scriptures discuss human beings and human functions, including sex, in blunt open terms. The body is never shameful, never disgusting, but beautiful, functional, and to be used in a manner that praises God. (The Hebrews had an idiom for men - the original Hebrew in the bible uses the phrase "anyone urinating against a wall" - obviously THAT was done in public.) What many people get upset over is the connotation that nudity is sexual - and many things in this society make that jump from nude to naked. But there are many Christians who not only appreciate art but also create it, including myself. And i have taken several life drawing courses (with nude models) and have never failed to increase my appreciation for Jehovah's creative ability, for making us so 'wonderful, as my soul is very well aware.'

That is a presumptuous question. Apparently you have never visited the Vatican museum, or you would know that yoru statement is not true. In the Vatican, there are many nudes in paintings and sculptures, alike. The human body is one of God's creations and when it is treated with dignity it is a thing to be admired.

That started way back in the garden of eden days, when God created them, they were without clothes, all was fine till satan came along and tempted eve and she feel for it, and got adam to go along with her too..(thats the first blame too neither one wanted to except the blame) when they ate the apple, their eyes were openned and they realized they were naked, they heard God coming and they grabbed a fig leaf and hide themselves because they were ashamed...am not sure if thats why but when they found out they were naked then they were ashamed and to think about it, it does make sense, and it has been going on like that ever since....its something that is inbretted in us from way back when..God Bless

Nothing! I'm a Christian naturalist.
We were not born with T-shirts that read "My sex organs are yucky!"
With God's grace, we were born beautiful.
