People seem to loose all control of their natural falcuties when one comes speaking the Truth.
There seems to be a lot of hostility here. What gives?

Seriously, I have been told that several times. But, no one ever seems to know where it is in the Bible.

I've been dating a mormon girl for about five months now and am wondering what's in store for me in the future. Contrary to the stereotype, I have recieved absolutely no pressure from my girlfriend to go to church with her or to consider converting to LDS. I've only talked to her parents a handful of times but they seem to be fine with it. My girlfriend has told me that her dad wasn't mormon before they were married, so that may be why her parents are fine with me not being mormon, but does that mean that they expect me to convert? She also told me that not all mormons convert their nonmormon partners, and sometimes it happens the other way around. I live in Iowa so it's not like I'm in Utah and there are Mormons everywhere you look, so I only really know what I've heard from her about LDS. Any views from LDS or non LDS would be greatly appreciated

GENISIS

1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness <--- who is US? who is OUR?

Atheists are doing Christians a favor by improving the world and if not this generation of Christians, then definitely their children. Religion is such a hindrance on our technological progression that any attempt to thwart its reign of apathy simply has to be beneficial to our progression. So how about it guys, three cheers for Atheists?

All i hear is "why do you not believe in god" or "have fun in hell". Sometimes from the same people. Do you come here to hate? because obviously you got lost and stumbled into a group of people who don't care.
Please, is it hard to believe someone can have a firm foot in morality but still not have FAITH. It's not like some of us would kill a child because we don't believe in jesus, gods, or whoever.

What im' wondering is why are you here to put people down. Are you insecure in your own beliefs that you have to put other people down?

Does anyone in the world other than me think that the baptism that gets you saved isn't what is done by a minister? John the Baptist said,"I baptize you with water BUT the one who comes after me will baptize you with FIRE and THE HOLY SPIRIT." I think that is what gets us to Heaven,(even though I don't really know what it is).
If we had to get baptised in church to go to Heaven...then it is a work, and salvation is not free.
Also, when Jesus was on the cross. He saved the thief beside him who said,"Remember me when you come into your kingdom." I son't think the Roman soilders let the guy come down long enough to get a water baptism.
Your thoughts please.

As a Christian your compelled to spread the word and seek to bring jesus to all.

As a American your compelled to accept others beliefs and culture.

These things seem directly incompatible with each other.

Do you just KINDA talk about jesus, and then when they say, not interested you just let them be?

That doesn't really seem to be what Bring the word of god means. Seems like you should be somewhat pushy. But thats not American.

thoughts?

I have been away from the church for a couple of years (long story).

But I'm pondering going back, and feel a certain afinity with the Episcopal church. I'd love to go check out a service, but I'm a little nervous about going to a service that is so different from what I grew up with.

Can anyone fill me in on what I should expect (and what I should know in advance) so I don't look completely stupid?

Thanks!

All i hear is "why do you believe in your fantasy characters" or "have fun in your deluded fantasy". Sometimes from the same people. Do you come here to hate? because obviously you got lost and stumbled into the religious and spiritual section of Y/A.

Please, is it hard to believe someone can have a firm foot in reality but still have FAITH. It's not like some of us would jump out of a plane to honor jesus, gods, or whoever.

What im' wondering is why are you here to put people down. Are you insecure in your own beliefs that you have to put other people down?

do you think he existed at all or did the things they said he did. I think that Jesus was a real man and that he was well above average than most others, kind of like Einstein. I do think that he figured out ways to solve common problem and used it to his advantage, people saw this, and since there was no science they thought it must be godly to know so much. Then 10 years down the grape vine hes the son of god that walks on water. What do you think?

I have a hard time sitting still unless I am doing something Like praying, or being on the computer and for my mental and emotional health I like to say nice and busy and occupied, but is there a difference between sitting back, enjoying life and being slothful and lazy?

I was at a job (praise God I got laid off) where the clerical were REQUIRED to do at least 13 jobs a day and we had to document everything on a spread sheet and basically I turned into a nervous wreck and it took YEARS I left in 2004 to deprogram myself from that horrid menatlity.

So there are times I feel I cant watch TV because I am sitting there doing nothing but just being.

What are godly ways not only to be a human doing but be a human being? Life is too short to be stressed out and frazzled all the time. Thanks for your answers God bless.

I was reading about this the other day in an article. I wanted some imput from christians also. Personally I had always believed that we should pray to be relieved of our problems but according to the article sometimes our problems come to help our character. "We are to praise God in all things good and bad".
