Stop having commercials for 1 week! That's it! McDonalds spends millions just on commercials. If someone doesn't see a McDonald's commercial in a year, I don't think they would say, "hmm, Did McDonald's go out of business?" With the money they would save they could pay their employees higher and help to make the food healthier. What do you think?

I can provide a report that proves left-handers have, based on averages and in-depth studies, higher IQs (not by much). Does this mean that because I, as a left-hander with an IQ in the top 1% of the population, am a propounder of more truth than those without? Because I am a left-hander with a high IQ, does that make my theistic view more legitimate? No? Then why so for 'high IQ atheists'? Shouldn't we judge truth based on logic rather than who it's coming from?

By the way, to all southpaws who don't feel shameful bragging, here's that link about high-IQ lefties. Scroll down for it.

That if he is all-seeing, he would know what you would do with your "free-will" before you were even born.

And being God, it should not have been difficult to create a race both with free will and without susceptibility to "Satan?"

This idea of all-powerful God automatically contradicts the idea of "loving God."

Unless you are a deist lol.

Well, if you believe in reincarnation, you know that the unpure souls suffer in their next life and the pure and good have a good life. Does anyone else think that its possible that all of the horribly evil souls are reborn in North Africa, so they could either starve to death, contract a multitude of fatal viruses and diseases, or be a victim of genocide? Maybe the reason we cant help them there is because thats just Hell on Earth, and we cant change that. We havent been able to in more than 20 years. Most souls have their memories erased upon rebirth, so the uncertainty of why they were born in such a horrible place, combined with everything that can kill them, is hell in my book. That could also explain the Atheists main argument "Well, if God exists, why are there starving children in Africa?"

Makes sense to me, but what do you think?

I've noticed that many religions claim that their supposed Deity has a "divine plan" for humanity and the Universe. Concordantly, every action can then be blamed on the Deity's plan, thus rejecting responsibility over one's own actions.
Or one can take extreme action (eg: terrorism) and claim to do so under the name and glory of a God.

What do you think about Religion and Responsibility?

"The time has also come to recognize the painful truth that traditional Judeo-Christian moral values of pain and pleasure in human relationships have contributed substantially to child abuse and to the prevalence of physical violence in Western civilization.... The religious system upon which our culture is based holds that pain, suffering and deprivation are moral and necessary to save one's soul and make one a 'good person.' The crucifixion and scourging of Christ are examples."
-- Dr. James W Prescott, former president of the Maryland Psychological Association, discussing awareness about rising rates of child abuse, in an October, 1977, magazine article, quoted from Conrad Goeringer, AANEWS 739, April 11, 2000, issued by American Atheists

We know that someone who is born with an I.Q. of 100 will never have an I.Q. of 150, no matter how many books they read, or college courses they take. Nature (god), not nurture (education), determines our potential intelligence.

Assuming the bible is true, genetic mutation was introduced with our fall from grace, so genetic diseases - nearsightedness, Down's Syndrome, Lupus, AND most types of metal retardation, are punishment for original sin. Had Adam and Eve not sinned, people would all be equally perfect and intelligent.

If a low I.Q. is part of punishment for original sin, it follows that Adam and Eve must have had exceptionally high I.Q.s (perhaps the highest.) A higher I.Q. would be considered "less" of a punishment.

Yet, statistically, higher I.Q. individuals tend to be atheists, while lower I.Q. individuals tend to be theists.

So why would god punish people who believe in him with low I.Q.s, and reward people who don't believe with high I.Q.s?

is not that brilliant?

That we can qualitively and quantitively measure wind? You are relying on your eyes when you use this faulty logic: Can you see sound? Same faulty logic.

Both sound and wind can be measured. That's how the weather man tells you how windy the day will be. Wind is just the movement of air. EXTREMELY BASIC SCIENCE.

I am surprised this excuse pops up so often.

Were you aware that excuse is absolute BS, and prove me wrong if you wish.

Due to their thinking in the way that if they can't see, touch, smell, hear or taste it, it doesnt exist. However wouldn't they have a sense of enlightenment everytime something good happened in their lives? And if so, seems there is a driving force behind it. Whether it be wealth, health, prosperity.

Many many Christians celebrate the differences between the sexes. You can really see this in Christian Women who agree that her husband is the spiritual leader and she is to submit to him, and also from the husbands who truly love their wives.

We get a LOT of argument in this regard from athiests/agnostics and from feminists, both in my experience (warning! generalization alert) seem to say that men and women are very much the same and should live their lives interchangably: Men are equally good as daycare workers and women can be just as good as soldiers. Many Christians also believe that variations to these generalizations are due to poor rearing, and that is why we are sooo pro-family. We want to raise a healthy society and central to that is staying within our role. Other groups have different ideas about how do do this, right?

I truly believe that this is a central issue between Christians and the rest of the world and understanding it could maybe stop some of the fighting

I've tried twice to post this question. Exodus 21:7-11 says "If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as menservants do. 8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself, he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. 9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. 10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights. 11 If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money.

It is clear form the passage that God has no issue with selling your daughter into sex slavery as long as her master follows the rules. Funny. God's got room to explain how to sacrifice animals, avoid shellfish and pimp your children, so you'd think he could explain contour farming, crop rotation, maybe even how to boil water to kill the Guinea Worm. Not that "loving" a God.

so you have this little girl that has been severly abused in the her first 8 years of life after the things get a little better and she remains confused and grows up living in a fog! she gets married young , has a child, husband very abusive and leaves. she is alone ! she tries to mend ties with her family but father drops her like a hot potato! mother says she is sorry for all the crap she went through! but she isnt able to understand mom! she seeks refuge under God , but her prayers are never answered! Girl continues to raise child , gets an educatin but never is able to trust people , and God no longer is the answer either! she becomes successful but it doesnt change the fact that she has no friends , at all, she just sort of lives day by day! she raised her child and did everything any parent could ever do for it! she let herself go and just doesnt care! God is still nowhere to be found !

on outside she is hard core (pretending),on the inside she is sad! I want to help her!

Yeah, this book's kind of like the bible, except the supreme being in my book is this faceless God-woman named Rick. Rick created the universe by snapping her fingers, and Rick wants us all to stick bananas in our ears and sing praises to her baseball card collection. She is a loving god-woman and will only send you to burn in a lake of acid if you don't stick bananas in your ears and do the Jitterbug. And don't tell me my new book isn't the only true, right way, because my book is the word of Rick and that's all you fools need to know! I'm totally serious by the way.
