Do you see the wind?
How do you know it's real?
Because you see the effects.
Same with God, you don't see him, you see his effects on the Earth

There was a time that my heart was lost in despair. And for this world or my life I had no care. Oh but Jesus had mercy and shed His grace on me,Lifting me up above the seas.

Chorus: oh but sometimes it seems I'm on this road alone, and no-one is walking with me. But the promise of God keeps me holding on as His faith wells up in me.

The saints are dear to my heart and I love them so, as they lift up my Savior, the world to show. And they rejoice in each victory in how He set them free. And it blesses my heart to have them round me. (back to chorus)

I thank God for His Spirit, such a comfort to me, as I struggle through this world, many trials I see. But the joy that He gives keeps a smile on me, till the face of Jesus I'll see. (back to chorus)

Ive heard alot of non-belivers say that why does "the man upstairs" always seem to bring chaos and destruction, and not everyones prayers are always answered. But then I saw an episode of Futurama that said, if he grants to many prayers people become dependent. And if he doesnt grant prayers people lose faith, and so he must use a lite touch. Personally I find this intresting. Whats your view?

My last question asking if you would teach other religions and faith to give your child an understanding got answers like-

"Why teach your child wrong stuff? If 1+1 = 2, why should I teach him otherwise?"

Or comparing teaching other faiths as poisoning your child with rat poison.

I'm just curious on what your justification is of this? You see, I'm an open minded person (believe it or not). If my kids decide to want to believe in Christianity after I teach them of it I'll won't mind one bit. If they want to follow buddist ways then more power to them.

Why such hypocritical statements against other religions when your own is just like the rest?

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."

Why believers can't do the same thing to discover spiritual law instead of accepting everything what their prophet fed to their minds?

Or do you insist... you must convert to our CULT...worship our MASTER... his servant has performed numerous acts of MAGIC... our RITES are the sign of the true believers... and we'll never shutup, no matter how many times our VERSES are disproven!

I don't go to church but have been to Sunday school a couple of times. I saw a documentary on TV once that suggested that because people are feeling all deep and spiritual, they feel close and intimate with the others around them. They feel connected with their peers who seem more sincere and thoughtful in this setting. The young church goers feel more empathy and trust for each other and thus more attraction.

Have you had the same experience. I have a group of friends that say their Christians but in the same breath drop the f-bomb. Where they're supposed to the morally upright and they are so drunk they can't stand. They invite you to come the church and it's so boring you can't stay awake and people give you why-are-you-here-you-devil-worshiper look. That's what I hate about Christians. If a Christian came up to you and tried to condemn you, what peice of "advice" would you give?

All you Christians want to talk about is how spiffy Heaven is and how you can't wait to get there. Yet at the same time Christians are just about as terrified of death and fascinated with living as long as possible to the next guy.

Now, if this world is so sinful and evil and awful, why do you want to stick around for so long paying your car leases, refinancing your mortgages, and deciding which health club plan is right for you?

Suicide is plainly forbidden by your religion, so that's one excuse for why you people aren't immediately offing yourselves after conversion. Fine. Let's posit that God doesn't want you to pull the trigger because He's hoping you'll do something useful with yourself and for His Kingdom.

Do you really think His amazing plan involves a white picket fence in Nebraska, a Toyota Camry, and a 401k?

Explain to me how exactly I'm supposed to take you guys seriously about your belief in "Heaven" when you're really planning to stay on Earth as long as possible.

Okay so ever since Tom Cruise announced that he follows Scientology, a lot of people have been (from what it seems) mislead into thinking it's an insensitive, almost egotistic way of thinking... as if it's trying to blame the people for their handicaps (mental disabilities, depression, post partum, etc.)... But with the media and junk magazines looking for ANYTHING to get us talking, I have a hard time believing that this is the best way to describe this religion...

As I said, Hollywood media will say a lot of things to stir up controversty, but I think that some people can actually find a lot of happiness, security and insight in practising scientology (to each their own though, of course) and I think it's so frustrating that people are actually bashing the idea without really knowing ANYTHING about it...

Can anyone give me some enlightenment and maybe even some explanation on the origins and the fundamentals of scientology and the positive influence it's had in peoples' lives?

I love God, I love what Jesus taught. I don't put Jesus above God, and that is exactly what it feels like christians do. Most of you don't understand why people get so upset with you. Your hearts, most of you, are in the right place. You think those that don't take Jesus as their savior are going to suffer in hell forever, so you try to help make people believe. Realize how very hard it is for some people to believe in something there is no proof for. Realize how upsetting it is that you talk about love yet look forward to Jesus coming back so you can go to heaven, while so many others will be suffering in hell forever. These are some of the reasons people get upset with some of you. And please don't say that the bible is proof, because it's not.

(Neglecting other teachings and only having your child learn of yours is hypocritical and brainwashing)

Why? Is it about discouraging pre-marital sex? Or about it not being natural?

If a gyn suggested to curb what could be a serious case of endometriosis through hormone therapy (progesterone only oral contreceptives,) would it be okay in this case to use it? Since, it is being used as medicine and has nothing to do with sex?

*This isn't meant to be offensive. I would just like answers from people who choose not to use birth control due to religious beliefs (or anybody that knows the answer.)
