Yes, Jesus was definitely a Jew, but Jews don't celebrate birthdays of ancient rabbis. We only celebrate birthdays of living friends and family.

Our holidays all come directly from the Bible. God told us to remember and to teach our children. That is exactly what we do during Passover. Hanukkah is actually a very minor holiday, but we celebrate it in the U.S. so Jewish children will also have a holiday sometime around the extravagant Santa Claus season. None of our holidays incorporate fictitious characters such as Santa and the Easter bunny.

Because the Jewish people could give a crap less about Jesus' birth. There is no record of Jesus' birth. Dec 25 was just chosen by Christians as the day they would celebrate it.

Because Jews don't believe in Jesus as the Messiah.. Many don't believe he existed at all, as there is no historical evidence to that effect. If he did, he certainly did not fulfill the messianic prophecies, no matter how christians have distorted it.

Chanukah is about the triumph of the maccabees over the Greek invaders, and how the oil for the temple menorah which should only have lasted 1 night, lasted the 8 nights it took to make more.

Christmas is a catholic creation to marry paganism with gnosticism. They took the pagan winter solstice celebrations and slapped a "jesus' birthday" theme on them to make them more palatable to both sides.

Jewish people don't worship Jesus, and so the celebration of the made-up birthday of a rabbi from 2000 years ago would be pretty pointless to them.

Hannukah is the remembrance of a miracle in the Jewish faith.

Because Christians believe Jesus was the Messiah promised to the Jews, Jews believe he was not. Thus they do not celebrate his birth.

Jewish people are so wrapped up to their own traditions that they did not realize that their Messiah had already arrived. Jews are still waiting for Messiah. So forth Christmas is not their holiday. : )
