Due to their thinking in the way that if they can't see, touch, smell, hear or taste it, it doesnt exist. However wouldn't they have a sense of enlightenment everytime something good happened in their lives? And if so, seems there is a driving force behind it. Whether it be wealth, health, prosperity.

What do atheism and Scientology have to do with each other??

Oxygen exists. Atoms exist. Bacteria exists. It's not about "seeing". It's about what is logically possible.

Good things happening are just good things. Why should I attribute these things to some mysterious "higher power"?

Scientology IS about money as it is a greedy, dangerous cult. Atheism is simply a lack of belief in gods... there are no "plans" or "motives" or "driving forces" in atheism.

Bad and good things happen, it doesn't have to have a driving force.
I can't see, touch, smell, hear, or taste oxygen, but there is proof that it's real. If there was an all powerful god who could do anything he wanted to do, I would think religion wouldn't be an opinionated thing. Wouldn't he do something to show that he definitely does exist? Well, he hasn't.

And I'm Atheist... I don't answer for Scientology, or have any idea why you think the two are similar.

Don't understand the question......
Scientologists do not consider that something doesn't exist
if they can't percieve it thro their physical senses.
Scientology is about the nature of the spirit or soul, which
cannot be percieved through the physical body senses. Atheists would have the same problem with Scientology as they do with any other religion. So the comparison is based on the two having the same way of thinking , which they don't.

Wow. You are the first person I have seen in my life to put Atheists and Scientologists into the same category. Let me assure you, as it seems that you don't know, that they are nothing alike. Also, you think that everything good that happens is a sign of enlightenment from God. Atheists see good things happening as signs that their hard work or choices have paid off. It's a different thought process.

"Due to their thinking in the way that if they can't see, touch, smell, hear or taste it, it doesnt exist."

There are plenty of things I can't see, touch, smell, hear, or taste. They have measurable effects. Gods don't.

You also apparently don't know what a "scientologist" is.

You need to start with something much simpler - you're way out of your league here.

Doesn't Scientology teach that we're all possessed by aliens or something?

Also, look up "atheism." It just means "without god/s" and is used to describe a person without belief in god/s. Therefore, atheism does not necessarily imply lack of enlightenment. Anyway, why does there need to be a "driving force" behind happiness? Silly...

What does something good or bad happening have to do with enlightenment or god? Does god really look over your shoulder and smite you with warts or something if you p*ss him off? Scientists deal with what they can see or hear or touch. How can doing exactly what you are trained for be a sell out? What planet did you come from?

Scientology is a religion that believe humans were brought to earth by aliens... please dont put them in the same category as atheists who don't believe in things that have no evidence...

Some people think that the good things in their life happen because of god. Others realize that it is just coincidence.

not everything has a reason, some things just happen
