I was just wondering what your view is on soldiers who fight in wars that have no effect on their homeland; I know many religious sorts say that soldiers do not murder, as they are killing to protect their own countries. This was certainly true in WW2, for example- but what about those who serve in the armed forces today, and are fighting in wars that have no impact upon their homeland?

The Iraqis are not bombing London as the Germans did- and the Vietnamese (40 years ago) did not torpedo Pearl Habour. The soldiers fighting there have answered no call, as our forefathers did when they went to defend the allied nations from the threat of Nazism.

So will these men go to hell or equivalent, in your opinion? As they are fighting and killing whilst defending nothing?

Thanks for serious, open-minded answers.

I wish no disrespect to our soldiers and service-people; do not interpret this question as being so. Thanks

I heard a radio show yesterday about the science of creationism. The speaker discussed a number of scientific creationist theories explaining how all scientific evidence of evolution (e.g. fossils, carbon dating, geologic evidence) can be explained by writiings in the Catholic bible. Why did he keep insisting on basing his conclusions on things written down in a 2,000 year old book that has been translated through several different languages (Aramaic, Greek, Latin)? Won't basing scientific conclusions on a single source of information leave you on pretty shaky ground when your arguements are considered rationally?

If you're truly open minded a conversation would go like this:
Mike: You should believe in Budha.
Bob: You are absolutely right.
Jim: You should believe in Confusious.
Bob: You are absolutely right.
Steve: You should believe in Scientology.
Bob: You are absolutely right.

and so on, and so on......................

Can anyone explain the graphs, tables and pie charts that I found in the Bible (I have the King James version). Are there Cliff Notes available to just give me a summary of the data? All the scientific data is so confusing to me...besides it shakes my faith in reality, namely real science

002.246 Hast thou not turned thy vision to the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Moses? They said to a prophet (That was) among them: "Appoint for us a King, that we May fight in the cause of God." He said: "Is it not possible, if ye were commanded to fight, that ye will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to fight in the cause of God, seeing that we were turned out of our homes and our families?" But when they were commanded to fight, they turned back, except a small band among them. But God has full knowledge of those who do wrong.

What is all of this 'Christian Nation' nonsense?

Not only does the Constitution not mention Christianity, or any other religion, but the First Amendment PREVENTS anyone from even attempting to establish an official national religion, obviously in response to you simpletons making your first attempt at doing just that.

Why do you idiots persist in lying about the contents of the Constitution, when it has been specifically amended to prevent you from doing just that?

Do you just hate America? Democracy (a pagan Athenian political system)? The Republic?

Do you live in some bizarre fantasy world where only Christians should enter the US or hold office? The Constitution specifically prevents anyone from administering any type of religious test as a requirement to enter the US or hold office, but you continue to lie about that also.

Are you simpletons, or are you just pathological liars?
