People ask me what I believe, what my religion is. I say I don’t have one. Although I hate the word religion, mainly because people are controlled, ruled, and beaten by it, but I still want to know if I have one. Atheism believes in matter, the physical, the here and now, with no divine forces of any kind, and that the end is it, when you die you are nothing by dead. Although I do not believe in “God” of any kind, I do believe in reincarnation, and the elements, Mother Earth. I believe that the world has a way of balancing everything out, a reaction to something unknown to us, or something humanity did or caused. I believe in spirits and charkas, I’m against all war, but I’m for the death sentence and pro-choice. I do not define my life by the past which I had no control. I do not need to know how the earth was made, how everything there is came to be. The fact that matters is that it and we are here, now, living. Humans should not define themselves or be controlled by their money, their job, and even their religion. They should be defined without control, their life should be defined by experiences, and how free they are to do what they love, as long as what they love does not cause harm to others… Is there such a religion?

I hear a lot of people saying that they don't want Christians forcing their "jargon" down their throats and they don't want people telling them what to do, but if Christians are told to tell people about God, what right do you have to tell them not to tell you? Have you been commanded to tell Christians not to talk to you? And if you don't like hearing what Christians have to say, why do you think that is? Do you feel guilty? Just wondering...

Christians, what would you do if Jesus Christ himself, appeared before you, and and said:

"Look, dude, the truth is, I didn't died 2000 years back, God took me up there to his crib and we partied a while. It was that scapegoat Judas Iscariot who got crucified, kay? Oh and I'm not the Son of God either, I'm just a prophet, the Muslims got it right though. Okay, see you later dude, gotta go slay the AntiChrist. Peace and God bless."

Would you say:-

A. Yeah sure whatever.
B. that must be Satan the Deceiver, or ANTICHRIST himself!
C. I was hallucinating, there is no God.
D. ...Wait, Jesus wasn't mexican?

Everytime I talk to a religious person they are always talking about death, when I die, Hell, living for whoever, making God the only focus of my life.

Is this a hatred of Life?

I love Life..I think God put us here so we could be happy and grow and enjoy the life I was given. I have far too much respect for God to think I was put here to suffer and miserable, because that would be cruel and silly.

Wouldn't God want you to live your life and be happy and enjoy yourself? Why does any good feelings seem to be a bad thing to religion?

"God could destory the universe by blinking. Does that help you grasp his power?"

Do they just make it up or is there some source for it?

I don't ever remember reading that in the Bible.

I live in the west end of downtown Hamilton. I'm looking for a non-traditional church (freely talk about "almost anything", pray, worship, sing, dance, play games, maybe do crafty stuff and do lots of community work) that is great for young adults, but we'd still like it when we're older and married with kids. Not saying you could go and drink, smoke, have sex, and swear at such a place. But if people where prenent and not married or people wemt clubbing (Little things like that) they'd 100% not get looked down apone. I would like the people there to be good people who love being a christian and have lots of respeact for themselves and others. But I'm just sick of the overly dressing up just to go and stand around like a little angel and listen to a person talk for an hour. I reather have 5, 10, 20, whatever people sitting around talking and being free to eat and wear jeans or whatever. I'm a christian and love God and don't need a person shoving junk down my tought.

I have a question for the religious people. Why do you pray? If God (or Allah, or whatever) has full knowledge of everything then he knows you have faith or you don't. You can't really tell him anything he doesn't already know, right? If you're praying for your disease to go away, he already knows you're faithful and you want the disease to go away before you start whispering to him about, right?

At times I become so timid/shy, discouraged, and depressed. I want to know prayers which I can recite in order to gain back my strength and hope. You may include the lives of the Saints who made the prayers or are associated with them.

more than 50% of people now living without a spouse. People have no idea how to build relationships anymore, they have no idea how to honor a commitment made before friends, family, and God. How can God not be totally shaking his head at the fact that we have managed to completely screw up His beautiful creation of marriage?

I cannot help but notice the Jehovah Witnesses (at least the ones here) blatantly looking at the verses in the Bible and finding strange and implausible reasons for not believing the Bible. So that got me to wondering which books that they believe? Does it have to do something with the author? Which authors do they believe or not believe? (Just give me the shortest list please, because I suspect that the "don't believe" list must be huge!)

I am an extrovert and my daughter is an introvert. I need to learn more tact, I am very frank, not meaning to be. I feel my daughter is not truthful, (uses evasive language which would be normal for an introvert faced with an extrovert), BUT, when does it cross into not truthful. We are both life long Christians, I'm 56 and she is 28 . I would especially like to hear from the Biblical "experts" who can trace this verse back to the original Hebrew meaning, so the word truthful is more defined.
