I cannot help but notice the Jehovah Witnesses (at least the ones here) blatantly looking at the verses in the Bible and finding strange and implausible reasons for not believing the Bible. So that got me to wondering which books that they believe? Does it have to do something with the author? Which authors do they believe or not believe? (Just give me the shortest list please, because I suspect that the "don't believe" list must be huge!)

I am beginning to think that JWs teach the new converts that they believe that Bible, which explains why I am getting some of the answers here claiming that they believe the Bible, and probably explains some of the other misunderstandings.

But those JWs who seem to really know their religion, I think it is like an inside joke, that they knowingly and truly do not believe one word of God's Bible. Depending on how involved they are with this religious group seems to depend on how deeply an individual (who is involved with them) understands this.

Well that is my theory so far, based on the answers and emails that I am receiving.

I will wait a little longer and see if this is true or not, or if I need to adjust this theory.

If we don't believe in the Bible than why are we the only ones who respect what it says? We don't smoke, drink, go to war, get involved in politics, have intimate relations before marriage or outside it.
Why are we the only ones who who preach God's Kingdom? “I must declare the good news of the kingdom of God, because for this I was sent forth" - Luke 4:43. "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit" (Matthew28:19). “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy KINGDOM come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”—Matt. 6:9, 10
Why is that we know the Bible the best? Why does the world hate us? "If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world, but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account THE WORLD HATES YOU." - John 15:19

We individuals of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints prepare the fact. The church is real and we prepare the gospel of Jesus Christ. and that i'm advantageous you mean she had the e book of Mormon. we don't call that a "Bible" via fact that is no longer one. even nonetheless, the e book of Mormon, alongside with the Bible, are the understand God. "i'm no longer attempting to insult you, yet we Christians have faith interior the real Bible." apparently no longer. If this became the case you care to assert why each and each of different denominations are obtainable? And with the aid of the way, there is 91 variations of the english Bible. And we are christians. Like yet somebody else stated, no longer something has been extra to the Bible. @wandering The version of the trinity you think in isn't taught interior the Bible.

As I read your question, I find myself very concerned. The reason being, Jehovah's Witnesses DO believe in the entire Bible. We believe it is inspired of God and beneficial for every aspect of our lives (2 Timothy 3:16,17). Jehovah is the author. He used his holy spirit to direct the writers of the 66 books of the Bible (2 Peter 1:21).
Keep in mind, just because someone types in an answer and claims they are one of Jehovah's Witnesses, that doesn't mean it is true. Since you cannot see them in front of you, with their Bible in their hand, answering your questions directly from the scriptures, how can you know if they really are Jehovah's Witnesses? It is not unreasonable to conclude that someone who is trying to discredit Jehovah's Witnesses would try to make you believe we don't believe the Bible.

We believe in the entire bible. The bible is written by man but inspired by god(Jehovah). All of our teaches are bibled based for example:

No Cursing: Ephesians 5:4, Colosians 3:8
Immorality: 1 corinthians 6:9,10
No Blood: Acts 15:20, 28, 29, Genesis 9:4

These are just a few.

Since JWs use the Bible so extensively that they wear them out every few years, your claim is completely off the mark. Unlike members of other churches, every family member, from the point where they begin to read, has their own Bible and read it regularly. A young child will not understand what they are reading, but by the time they reach the age of understanding, they have a good basic knowledge of it.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe the whole bible. From Genesis to Revelation. I don't understand what you are saying.

Our whole beliefs are based solely on the bible. We believe the whole bible is inspired by God. We do not resort to philosophical arguments to evade its clear statements of truth or to justify the way of life of people who have abandoned its moral standards.

In pointing out the meaning of symbolic language in the bible, we let the bible provide its own explanation, instead of giving theories as to its significance. Indications as to the meaning of symbolic terms are usually found in another part of the bible. As fulfillment of prophecy, we apply what Jesus said about being alert to events that correspond to what was foretold. ( Luke 21: 29-31)

Many doctrines taught by religions, are not supported by the bible, nor did the early Christians believe them. You can do research for yourself and see where these doctrines came from. It wasn't the bible.

additional comment: I have been a baptized Witnesses since 1979. Your theory is wrong. If you look at any of our literature, it is full of bible quotes from the whole bible. In fact, if you look up info about us, it usually says we take the bible literally. We do not believe that Adam & Eve, and Noah etc..are stories as some religions. We believe everything in the bible to be the word of God and there for a reason. The only way to know foresure is to study the bible with us.

“We worship what we know,” said Jesus. (John 4:22) He was speaking as a member of a people to whom Moses had said: “Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.” Yes, faithful Jews worshiped a God they knew. As to Christians, not subject to the Jewish Law covenant but brought into a new covenant, it was prophetically said of them: “They will by no means teach each one his fellow citizen and each one his brother, saying: ‘Know Jehovah!’ For they will all know me, from the least one to the greatest one of them.” Such Christians do indeed know their God.—Deuteronomy 6:4; Hebrews 8:11.
all scripture is inspired and beneficial
we read the whole bible not just parts of it.

We exercise faith in all the books of the Bible as being the inspired word of God as stated at 2 Timothy 3:16,17.

WOW funny. I have read the whole Bible and Belive the whole Bible. I do not know ANY Witnesses who do not believe any of the Bible. I think those who think we do not believe the Bible are misunderstanding. We have interpereted it differently, perhaps, from you. That does not mean we do not believe in the Bible.
