"God could destory the universe by blinking. Does that help you grasp his power?"

Do they just make it up or is there some source for it?

I don't ever remember reading that in the Bible.

I am not sure where that came from, but I have heard it as well... I do not remember anything like that in the bible. What I think it has to do with is they believe with him making everything in 6 days he can destroy it just like that... But that does not make sense, if he could destroy it by blinking then why could he create it by blinking?

The majority of the stuff I have heard from some christians are misinterprated by what was really said. Some likes to read between the lines alot when there isnt anything to read.

but hey thats just my opinion.

God is a spirit and neither slumbers nor sleeps. God does have an "eye" on the sparrow and has "winked" in time past at the heartless activity of men. He even counts -- every hair on your head is numbered.

That God sustains the universe by His grace impresses me.

We may need anthropomorphic expressions to relate to the activity of spirit; but I agree this quote is rather lame. First God is a Savior and man a destroyer. First God is a creator, a healer and the author of every good and perfect gift. Man is again a destroyer, a taker, a consumer and has yet to create a tree or even a blade of grass.

Some people go for stuff like this. The Word of God in the Bible generally seems to tame for them or they think "hot" quotes are revelations direct from heaven.

I read that. I thought "wow, so god actually has to physically do something. Kind of like Jeannie, as in I dream of..." Glad you posted this because I nearly posted a question about it myself. But if god has to blink, does that mean if we cut off his eyelids he'd be powerless? Like samson and his hair?

He spoke the world and everything in it into existance. (Genesis 1&2) Why would it surprise you that he could not blink it away?

Out of pure love for God .

He gives me the power of prayer, and He has given me peace, joy, happiness--in my HEART!!
Could we ask for anything MORE?

We "come up with it", because God first loved us, so now we can love the unlovely.

You don't have to read that in scripture to know it's true.

Thank you, Lord Jesus.....may You come soon.

They just make it up. It is traditional for religions to do that.
