There's a story on Yahoo about an invention a 9-year-old made that raises and lowers the toilet seat because his mom would yell at him when he didn't put it down. Ladies, you should look before you sit and be glad we didn't piss where you're going to sit.

On every holiday, the women get stuck doing everything. All the cooking and cleaning...this year, should we ask the men to clean up? It's only fair, I think...though, I have a feeling only 1 or 2 of them will actually do it (if any at all).

I'm fuming, how very dare people try to put the responsibility of a secret on one without asking. What do you say when someone tells you a secret without asking your permission, or even if you're capable of keeping it in the first place? I'M RUBBISH AT BLIDDY SECRETS

I noticed this a lot in the workplace and most of them tell each other to go to college like everyone. Other employees have told me to do the same thing. It gets annoying after a while and then they start wondering why you are down and confused. Is it becasue they don't want you at the job for 20 years that pays great or what? Is college the answer to everyone? The employees tell you to do it, then you find out they never went to college and worked at the place for a long time. Why is it like this?

He still has strong feelings. Plus I am already involved with someone (although its a one-sided relationship) who I am serious about. I simply don't want an ex to spoil things in my life, nor, do I want to raise his hopes or get tempted. What shd I say to make him see reason??? He says we share a friendship and we should always be friends given how much we like talking and sharing. Yes, we share a great "talk" chemistry, but, I am sure it is clearly inappropriate given the circumstances. Why can't he understand I am uncomfortable?

I am a full time college student. In class last night, another classmate's cell phone kept ringing in her purse. By the time she turned it off, I missed what the instructor said. I had to ask the instructor to repeat herself. I am paying to hear the instructor, not cell phones ringing. I can't hear both at the same time. The ringing of the cell phone is louder than the instructor. I was told each instructor has their own policy and handles it their own way. Some students want their phones on and have no regard for others they are disturbing. This instructor didn't do anything. Is there some department I can go to at the college about it?

I do art things like airbrushing and caricatures at functions, corporate events and stuff but my managers said I'm really not supposed to accept tips? Why? Don't people usually get tips at functions. I don't know the rhyme or reason why I shouldn't. Does it just look bad?

My friend and I were arguing about tips this morning. Should someone who is working and getting 9+ dollars an hour receive tips for doing things that are outlined in their job descriptions? Whenever I go into StarBucks or any place like that there are always tip jars sitting out... Should I feel bad for NOT tipping?

Hi. I am a college student and I was recently a victim of sexual harassment, or at least I think it is.

Two days ago, in my communications class I was sitting in front of a male student. The class was going well and my day was so far perfect.

During the second half of class, I kept feeling as if something was touching my lower back, I turned around and noticed I kept brushing my exposed backside against the student's knee.

"He's a big guy, so it's all right" I thought, and I pulled down my shirt.

Then during the last 15 minutes, I kept feeling as things were going down my underwear. Thinking it was the wind, as I was sitting near an open window, I ignored it. But then I felt something cold go down the back of my pants. I looked behind me again and the student was acting normal. I felt my backside and my underwear was exposed, along with some of my butt.

Intially I thought it was just the wind, but I was still suspicious as I felt something was in my underwear.

After class I went.

you ego? MY definition of love is when you care more about the other person then yourself. I think you should be willing to do anything any time. Naturally my wife does not agree.

I don't usually wear shoes as I prefer to go barefoot.
I need to have my haircut and not sure whether I should wear shoes or if it is okay to go barefoot.
What should I say if they ask where my shoes are?
Do I need to ask them up-front whether it is okay for me to be barefooted?

I need some advice on how to handle a mean, manipulative, and devious co-worker. I have been w/ this agency for 1 year. My first day on the job was horrible. I was informed by my co-worker that she is a type A personality, doesn't do filing, thought that another person was a better choice for the position & I didn't deserve it. She has been employed w/ the agency for 5 mts., still on probation. No one in our dept has been trainedfor this position, incl the lead/supervisor, so we are the only people who know how to do our job. My co-worker is favored by my Supervisor, who has been with the agency for 5 months& my Lead. She is always late, takes excessive leave, dumps work on me, talks on her cell and comes & goes as she pleases, etc. She has the supervisor's ear so most all co-workers kiss her a**. She's demanding, pushy, and piles the work on me. I have tried to resolve this w/ the supervisor and it turned against me. My super. hardly speaks w/ me & if I go to the Union I'm blacklis

I walk down to the bar down the street (when I have an evening to get away) and have a few drinks a few times a month. I always bring a book and sit down and read though. I don't want to socialize, but it's nice to be around people. I get the strangest looks from people. Does anyone else do this? Do you think it's an odd thing to do?

Today I went shopping and the cashier was totally rude and hostile for no apparent reason. I don't think that complaining to the manager would work, I worked in retail before. I think it would be dismissed as a petty complaint from a fussy customer (which I am not, I just expect the BASIC customer service). All I wanted was to receive a copy of my receipt and a minimum of courtesy, like "you are welcome and bye". So, have you ever felt like going in the store next time and hiding a stink bomb? Or what do you do? Should you go in with a cup of coffee (not burning) and spill it in the cashier's face to humiliate him in front of everyone?

I'm a 47 year old white male who, today, was involved in a flirtatious little chit-chat with a 30 year old black female. At one point in our conversation she said "I would date you if you weren't too old."

Obviously, this woman believes it is perfectly acceptable to make discriminating decisions based solely on age.

But I wondered, afterward, how she would feel, or how she would respond, had I returned "you need not worry, I would never date a black woman."

Do we live in a culture where it is acceptable to discriminate based on age, but not on ethnicity? What say you?
