I know how to open the letter and what to put in the body of the letter, but how exactly are you supposed to close a formal letter? I'm thinking you're not supposed to put "sincerely, blah blah blah"... or are you? Does anyone know?

I used to really look forward to a night out but since I was about 21 (im now 25) I prefer to stay i with a bottle of vodka and my cat. My boyfriend loves going out but I think it's a waste of money. I'm not saying I never go out but this year i've been out once and hated it. Does anyone else feel the same or am I just a miserable cow?

Four men and a girl escaped from sinking ship. A girl, an old man and a sailor were in one boat. The girl's fiance and his friend were in another boat. The two boats got stranded on two separate desolate islands.
The girl tried to go to her fiance's island but the boat need to be repaired first. The sailor offered to repair it but she must sleep with him in return. The girl asked the old man for his advise, but the old man just told her to follow her heart. Later she decided to sleep with the sailor and he fixed the boat.
So, she managed to go to the other island, met the fiance and told him the story. The fiance got mad at her for sleeping with other man, and chased her away. The friend came up and told her not to worry, he would try to patch things up between her and the fiance, but in the mean time, he requested the girl to have sex with him.

Rank this five people from the best to the worst (and why do you rank them so). Story stays as is.. there is no 'what if' condition.

I have an on going dispute about parking with my neighbor. Keep in mind parking is hard to find in my area.

There is a space that is partially red and if one car is willing to park at least 6 inches into the red then you can fit 2 cars in that spot. If you are not willing to park into the red then it can only fit one car. I am NOT willing to park into the red as I do not want to get a ticket. My neighbor says it is "just fine" to park in the red and he does it all of the time to allow for another space. When I refuse to park in the red I get nasty notes on my car and even yelled at. I just tell him that I am not parking in the red!

What can I do? I just don't want any kind of fights nor do I want a ticket.

I just keep telling him that HE can park in the red all he wants but that I am not doing it.

Please help!

She kept touching it, even though I asked her to stop, since my package is quite delicate, and if it's touched enough, some contents might come spewing out. Allow me to explain.

I was on the bus earlier today, and I was carrying with me a box that contained an old lamp that my aunt had just given to me. That is the package that I was referring to earlier in this post. She sat next to me and kept poking it and prodding it, wanting to what was inside. I told her it was a lamp. She wanted to see it, but by then, it was time for me to get off. She poked and prodded my package a few times while I was getting up and walking away.

Is there any real way to deal with a situation like this?

Is it wrong to say "Jesus Christ" while at work or anywhere else for that matter? AND IS YOUR BOSS ALLOWED TO STOP YOU FROM SAYING THIS because 1 person says they are offended by it?
By the way the person who claims to be offended says "Oh My God" frequently. Is one better? less "offensive" than the other?

I'm am trying to be a better person because i want to be the best person i can be everyday. I really can't seem to do this because my family gets on my nerves. The more i try to be patient with them, the more it bulids up inside and i don't even know it. They are very impatient and short tempered. Not to mention close minded. My mom ESPECIALLY jump into conclusions. I am really trying to be very patient with this, but she does not trust me and she really just gets on my nerves. I think the only way I won't get mad at her is if i don't talk to them at all. I think my life would be very much easier that way. but i must be patient.. gob damnit

I work as a host once a week at local restaurant. I also work as an office manager full time, so being a host is just for fun. The last time I worked, we were on a very short wait, about 15 minutes. These 3 guys who were waiting were being very rude. They kept making fun of me and the other hosts by mocking me when I opened the door for people and mimicked our voices in a "valley girl" tone, which is nothing like how I speak. One guy was walking through the restaurant looking for a table as if I didn't know how to do my job. I was especially offended by this because these were adults. They weren't disrespectful teenagers, these guys should have known better. I shouldn't let it get to me, but I was baffled at how rude these men were and the fact that they assumed that because I'm a host, I'm also an idiot. We didn't make them wait very long, it was under the quoted time, so I felt their disrespect was completely unwarranted.

Mine was my size 50G breasts. My back, spine, shoulders, and constant hunching over my body just got worse. I had to go to chiropractors and massagers constantly and was wasting money. Also, my bras were like $45 a piece and after washing 4 times they would give way and my sisters would droop, so the store liked me cause I was constanly buying from them. Also, my asthma, and constant breathing trouble.

I know everyone has a body part that they would like to slim down but mine was my breasts, breathing, and of course just needed to slim down from 260 pounds. Sorry, no breast reduction. Don't have the $12,000.00 Thanks.

How do you all end your phone conversations? Does anyone say "Goodbye" or "Bye" anymore?
As of late, I rarely hear that.
I don't even hear people say alternatives such as "Later" or "Peace" either. I was just wondering how you folks end your phone convos.
Many thanks for your comments!

At work, I deal with a lot of people over the phone. I hate when people say "you people".
For an example, I got a call today like this:

"I never benefited from "you people" so that's why I thought I'd call you to see if you would help pay my premiums because I am low income". Well, "you people" send me this stuff every year and thought I would call you first.

I volunteer for an organization which requires us to work closely on teams of 3-4 members for extended amounts of time. As a result, team members tend to become very close. One of the team member, Janet, is a very nice woman, thoughtful, knowledgeable, professional. However the more time we spend together the less I like her. We're very opposite - she's uptight and gossipy and I'm laid back and keep my mouth shut and take it all in. I can respect the differences (cursing, for instance - I have a bad mouth and I know she doesn't like cursing, so I watch what I say) but lately I don't feel that she does. I recently got my nose pierced - a small tasteful stud. She found this so amusing that she had to stare at me and giggle, then proceed to call someone else and let them know, in my prescence. At first I was amused, then confused as to why it was so funny, then I was just insulted and she kept on until I snapped at her.

My coworker used to be a great worker until her personal issues started to get in the way. Now she takes off work often, leaving a big strain on the rest of the team, or when she is here she's surfing the internet or on the phone with her boyfriend. The bosses are going to have a talk with her (if she ever comes back to work) but I can't help looking down on her for her behavior. Am I wrong for being frustrated with her current performance? Also, is it wrong for me to look down on her for spreading her personal issues all over the office? And am I a bad person for speaking ill of her regarding the issues she is boasting all over the office?

I have been not wearing underwear for about 2 years now. I am a classy girl and am very proper so I honestly think it's odd that I don't wear it.

I only wear if I am seducing my boyfriend or something along those lines. I use it purely for him. But otherwise I can't stand it, I think pantylines are awful and I love life without underwear!

*** P.S. I OF COURSE wear it when I am wearing a skirt or a dress. JIC it's windy out.

I have noticed that the customer service @ my optometrist office is going down hill. The girls who work in the front of the office are rude and obnoxious. They talk about customers in really loud voices and the office is not big so everyone can hear them. The two optometrist who work there seem obvious to the problem. I really like my optometrist so I don't want to stop going to him...but I am considering it because of these girls. I don't know how I would go about complaining to him. I work in customer service so I know some days can be bad days but I have been back three times in the past week and I have received rude service all three times!

Fallen Angel. Chapter one. In search of Identity.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"My eyes opened and I realized I was resting on a soft bed. I was covered with a soft baby blue blanket. The birds chirpedrhythmically, and the sunlight reflectedfrom the window adjacent from the bed was hurting my eyes. I squinted as I looked upon it, but it really didn't helprelieve the pain at all. The pain felt as if I was looking directly at a flashlight. I could easily tell the time of day was morning. I sat up on the bed and looked around the bedroom, the walls were painted pink, the drawers and bookshelves standing opposite of the window were just as blue as the blanket that I hadjust pulled off. The room was unfamiliar to me. I wondered how I got here, but I could not recall anything that occurred before this present point, nothing at all.
I got out of bed and there was a somewhat loud clanking sound coming from the polished wooden floor. I looked down and saw a silver heart shaped pendant bonded with small silver chains. I bent over and picked up the locket. It was two and a half inches long, and it gleamed and shimmered like precious diamonds in the sunlight behind me. I turned the heart shaped locket and saw a small clasp. I opened the locket and saw a photo of a young woman on the left who seemed to be wearing a purple dress robe. Next to her on the right was a little girl, wearing similar clothing except she wore pink instead of purple. Both of them had long black hair and they were smiling at each other. I glanced at the little girl again, and although the child seemed so cute, she also seemed very familiar. There was a mirror adjacent to the door in front of me. I saw my own reflection in the mirror. I realized that I had black hair just like the two people in the photo, wearing a white T-Shirt and white shorts, I also saw in the mirror that I had no shoes on. Then I looked at the little girl in the picture again. That little girl’s face and hair are somewhat similar to mine. On the left side of the locket I saw a something printed on the silver metal. The upper left corner of the heart locket was a name that was printed “Fallen angel” and in the middle there was date carved into the locket saying

20 December 1995

The date on the locket caught my attention. I wondered why the date was even printed there. What happened on that day? Why is it so significant? I also wondered who the young woman is in the photo, and if the little girl next to her is really me. The door in front of me knocked unexpectedly. I just watched and glared at it, then seconds later the door opened. The one who knocked on the door was a young woman, wearing a white dress and I also noticed a white apron she was wearing that seemed to blend in. Her rectanglular glasses were completely crooked, it looks as if it was about to fall off her face. Her face was completely dirty, and her crimson hair looked as if it were never brushed for weeks perhaps months. Her emerald eyes came into contact with mine, and said to me in a somewhat squeaky voice.

“Hello, you’re awake”

I continued to glare at her, and remind silent.

“What’s your name?” said the woman, smiling lightly “My name is Solana Frostly.”

Unfortunately I didn’t have an answer to that question. I felt pretty stupid not knowing my own name, so I remained silent and continued to stare at her.

“Um, you don’t talk much do you?” said Solana, timidly. “My daughter Aiyana found you in the forest out cold so we took you in our home and we kept you warm and placed you in her room. Um….. Are you feeling okay?”

I nodded lightly, and whispered.

“Yes”

“I’m glad to hear it!” said Solana, smiling brightly. “Come downstairs, I made some breakfast. When you finished eating we can call your parents. How old are you by the way”

“T-Tw-Twelve” I answered a little unsure of myself.

“Oh that’s great!” Said Solana, “Aiyana is just about you age- Well, perhaps. She’ll be turning twelve in a few days, so I’m sure you two would get along just fine. Now please come downstairs for some breakfast. I’m not sure if there is any breakfast left, I didn’t expect you to be awake at this time. After breakfast we’ll call your parents, they must be worried sick about you. So we’ll just let them know that you’re okay”

Solana turned around and left. Seconds later, I got up off the floor, where I was sitting, left the room and went down the stairs. After I reached the first floor, I heard a voice calling to me.

“Hey, over here! We saved you some breakfast”

I turned to where the voice is coming from. It was Solana and another girl who had long scarlet hair just like Solana’s in a kitchen. I walked inside the kitchen where the girl sat at a circular wooden table that was near a corner of the kitchen. The table had a large plate with a layer of pancakes on a white ceramic plate and a bottle of maple syrup sitting there. I gagged at the odor of burnt food. The sink next to me were piled with dirty dishes. There were shards of broken glass on the white tile floors. I almost stepped on them, while I was still barefoot. Solana was near an oven holding a silver metal spatula, jumping and shrieking hysterically trying to put out the flames that bloomed from the stove just a second ago. I sat at the table where the girl sat. I glared at her for a moment. The girl looked back at me and smiled.

“Oh hello,” She said quickly, “Don’t mind my Mom, she’s very clumsy when it comes to housekeeping. As you can see, she’s not always the best cook. Although she’s very clumsy and careless, she has her moments. She’s only like this when she’s stressed out. It’s very typical for adults.Other than that she’s a great cook. Oh, I’m so sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Aiyana.”

Aiyana reached out her right hand towards me.

I looked at her hand. I wondered what she made that gesture for. I continued to stare at it.
“What’s your name” She asked.

My eyes were drawn from her hand to her face. It’s that question again. I was gnawing my bottom lip, trying hard to remember, but it was impossible. All I could do now is give Aiyana a light shrug. Aiyana frowned.

“I tried asking her the same thing,” said Solana finally finished extinguishing the flames on the stove, “but she wouldn’t tell me. She must be shy, let’s give her some time to relax a bit. Aiyana pumpkin, go to the living room and find the phone. I think it’s time we call her parents. And turn on the computer on your way back here, and look up something on missing children”

Aiyana looked at her mother and nodded. She got up off her chair and left the kitchen. Now my attention is drawn to Solana, who smiled at me, placed some pancakes on the plate in front of me and said,

“Please eat some pancakes, they’re really tasty. I don’t want you to go hungry. I’ll give you a fork and a glass of orange juice.”

Solana handed me a silver metal fork, with four prongs and the flower design carved on the brown wooden handle. She also grasped the bottle of maple syrup and poured its sticky brown contents on the plate of pancakes. I looked down and stared at it.

“Hmm,” said Solana. “It seems that you have never tasted pancakes before. Just cut a piece off and eat it.

I looked up at Solana once more, remembering what Aiyana told me earlier, that she isn’t always the best cook. I assumed that these pancakes of hers would not taste very pleasant. I found Solana as a very kind person and the last thing I want to do is offend her. With my assumption set aside, I grabbed the fork that was previously placed on the table, Cut off a piece of the pancake and placed it into my open mouth. My bottom jaw made contact with my upper one, while moving in a clockwise position. The food was soft and tasted sugary. While eating it I had this pleasant feeling, I assumed that the pancakes would taste horrible, but it was the opposite. I looked up at Solana again and smiled. Solana smiled back at me.

In each chapter there will be a new reply. So i need your opinion on this story.

Right a few months ago i bumped into this guy on the bus. actually, i fell into him - not much of a good impression. anyway we got talking and he was an okay guy. i thought he was a bit scruffy but w/e, nice personality. Anyway we get on the same bus - its one bus, the only one that goes to where i want to go and is once an hour - so we see each other every day. Anyway recently he's been pally, but really pally. Like friendly. But i don't know about him though cos he keeps asking me if I want money and im like no i dont want it. But he threw coins at me and when i didnt take notes, he shoved them in my pocket when i was getting up to get off the bus. He stares at me quite a lot and WONT stop staring sometimes. i thouhgt oh maybe he thinks im scruffy.. but then my friend came on the bus with me and he didnt stare at all, he sort of looked down on her even though she's a really nice person. i dont know whats up with him but its really annoying.. also my friend suggested he fancied me..
