I know how to open the letter and what to put in the body of the letter, but how exactly are you supposed to close a formal letter? I'm thinking you're not supposed to put "sincerely, blah blah blah"... or are you? Does anyone know?

My boss signs his "Very truly yours," or sometimes "Sincerely" if it's a business letter, yet it's being sent to someone who is also his friend.
